Anyone interested in a post card exchange?

I was considering a new way to teach geography with my ten year old son.  I know most of my blogging buddies do not live in Georgia.  Would anyone be interested in exchanging postcards of your state or country? Perhaps you might want to include a few facts about your area?

This would be a great way to get in geography, handwriting practice, and culture studies in a low cost way.  And who doesn't like to get mail?

I will have my son place a small sticker on our world map and our US map for each country or state we receive.  Any takers?  Please leave a comment if you are interested.

Also, would anonymous from Virginia please contact me where we can exchange addresses? Thanks.

Hey Pam. We'd like to participate in the postcard exchange. Just contact me at kcomom@aol.com with the details. We used to belong to a Yahoo postcard group, but haven't exchanged in quite a while. Also, you left a comment on my blog earlier tonight about not having had black-eyed peas in a while. Remember? :) I thought of a recipe I've used before that you might be able to sneak in with your family. Here's the link:

Just overlook the fish recipe, and you'll see the black-eyed pea recipe in the center of the page. Hope this helps. Please let me know if you find a good casserole recipe, too! ;) Happy New Year!

Jan. 2, 2008 - Need a postcard from Washington?

Posted by TroopersForChrist
When you are ready, send me your snail mail addy and I have some postcards to pick from. I'm a bit of a postcard junky and so were my parents and grannie. I inherited all the postcards and cards they kept too. Yikkes, that was 1000s! I have new unused ones I can select from if you don't have Washington state yet.

Ever heard of the Flat Stanley project this is similar. We hosted our niece from Oahu, Hawaii for a week as a Flat Stanley project.

Yours in Washington,
Marie & family

Oh, I wish my kids were younger. I'm going to tell my DD about this for her 8-year-old. (Have you seen her blog?). She's my "friend" Kristeland5cupcakes. I think she should do this!
Of course, with 5 kids, she might not like mom suggesting things that might be too much work. :-(

....let me know.
My girls did this a few years ago~ we had big maps (one poster board) on the way and they would mark and color each state as they got the postcards. We collected the postcards in a photo album and they ended up receiving cards from many foreign countries as well. It's a fun project!
