Life--Expect the Unexpected!

Tuesday I am celebrating my 19th wedding anniversary.  When I met my husband, twenty one years ago, in college, I would never have expected to marry him. I was dating someone else and ,after a traumatic breakup, didn't want to date anyone again for quite a while.  My future hubby and I hung out with a group of mutual friends and went out to eat or to see movies as a group. Slowly I began to see what a nice guy he was and we finally started dating.  He is a wonderful, kind, and considerate man. Happy anniversary to us!  (We look kind of goofy in the picture, but I guess that is okay on your wedding day.)

This brings me up to the not-so-great news.  Tuesday is the day that --instead of celebrating my wedding anniversary-- I take my dad to have surgery for cancer.  I am also his primary caregiver since I am the only child.  I  will be busy for several weeks.  I will try to visit blogs and post as I am able, but feel free to stop by and say hi even to me even if I am not able to visit you as often as I would like.

Congrats on your upcoming anniversary. I don't think you look goofy at all in the photo. I am so sorry to hear about your dad, I will certainly keep him in my prayers, and you as well. I can't imagine how hard it is for you to go through this with him. Hugs to you, Pam.

Bless your heart. I will keep praying for your Dad and your family. Cancer is so hard.

PS. To answer your question, I would not swap text books on paperbackswap since they weigh more and cost more postage.

18 years! How do you stay looking so young?? I'm sorry to hear about your Dad...if I'm not mistaken, isn't it a good sign that he's a candidate for surgery? I pray the Lord will uphold you both!
Your account of your day was priceless!

I am sorry to hear about your dad's cancer. He will be in my prayers and you as well. I know what it's like to be the only child dealing with a parent with cancer. (((((HUGS)))))

Happy Anniversary! Our family will be praying for your dad. I also wanted to let you know I enjoyed your post on Mondays on Mothering (I couldn't leave a comment there). We are striving to keep that open loving realtionship with our kids as they get into those teenage years.

Oh, darlin'! What a lovely picture. Congratulations on your wedding anniversary. I hope you'll have time to enjoy each other just a bit, even though it's a busy time.

I'll be praying for YOU and your father and your family...and that God would oversee all of this treatment! Blessings and hugs to you all!

Happy Anniversary! What a sweet couple you make! Thanks for sharing the picture!

I'm so sorry to hear about the sad part of your day. I will say a prayer right now both for him and your entire family as you serve as caregiver. This is something I have never done but would imagine it would be challenging. Sorry I have no advice to offer other than lots of prayer and leaning on Jesus for strength. He is an ever present help in time of need!

Hugs,
Farrah
