Happy Sweet Sixteen!

Yesterday, my oldest child turned sixteen!  She is very proud of her birthday present from her grandfather.  (She got a magazine subscription and a pizza party for her and her friends from us.)

By state law, she can't test for her driver's license until the 28th of December--and only if she finishes an online state mandated driver's class.  She was well on her way, but when our computer crashed it erased several of her hour and now she is having to make them up.  Since she can't drive her car, she can sit in the car and pretend.

I wonder if my father realized that he was giving me gray hairs and worry lines when he gave her the car? Hmmm......    (I don't see her being allowed to drive by herself very much for a while.)    Join  Mary  for more show and tells.

What a blessing for your daughter. And gray hairs for the parents! I know that all too well. I must say though that our boys are good drivers and responsible kids ( adults...where oh where did the time go)

At least the photo has a high-speed blur. And I think grandpa knew about the gray hairs. It's a silver car. :-) You get used to gray.

Pam, my S&T post is listed with Wordless Wednesday and Thankful Thursday. It is in regard to the heart transplant my bff received this week. It should be right at the top of the page.

Happy Birthday to your daughter! Wow!! That's quite a birthday present. Grandparents are like that. lol When my boys started driving (especially the first one), it was worrisome, but soon that was replaced by how great it was that they could run errands and drive them to their lessons and so forth. Frees you up and that is so nice!

Take care and have a very Merry Christmas!

God bless you ~ Julie

I'm happy for B and hope she's feeling better. A new car is a long way from the Build-A-Bear for my daughter's 6th birthday and I know the desires will change all too quickly.

Hope you and your family are restored to full health soon.

LOL -- sit in the car and pretend! It reminds me of when my wonderful husband was a teen with very little pocket money; he and his friends would go out together and he'd ask his friends if he could at least smell their food to make up for him not being able to afford to get anything.
Smelling food you can't eat, sitting in cars you arent able to drive....you get it, right?! LOL I ran out of coffee this morning, yea, I'll blame it on that!!!

Hope your Christmas was blessed.

We've been on our wonderful Dec break for the last few weeks, back at it tomorrow!
