I am hosting a CONTEST!!! Yes My Very First Ever CONTEST...... Can everyone hear me yelling out CONTEST! Want to win a small package of fun Las Vegas "stuff"???? I can't say what will be in each of the THREE packages, But I will say there will be (in each package) at least a real set of playing cards from one of the casinos... and a real pair of dice from a casino.... maybe even the same casino *smile*
So what do you have to do you ask... I will tell you, it is soooo simple....
1.) Take a picture of your library. **Any library, your home, or public, heck any stack of 2 or more books is all good with me**
2.) Post it on your homeschool blog.
3.) Link to me, so others can join in on the fun.
4.) Come back here and leave me a comment so I know to add your name to the magic hat....
On March 20th. I will have ButterBean reach into the magic hat and pull three names out... I will post the winners and you can email me a mailing address so I can send you a super duper small Las Vegas package!!!!

BODIES... The Exhibition

We went on a field trip here today.... DH, Koko, ButterBean and I, We went with a small group of homeschoolers....
So any hoot.... I am speechless... I am not sure what to say about it. Amazing me speechless huh....
These are REAL bodies.... EVERYTHING IS REAL!!! All but the eyeballs.... most of everything is not covered by glass so you are inches away from real bodies..... everything in the body..... not just the bones.... it is less about bones and more about the "stuff" in the body......
It took us about an hour and a half to get through it.....
It is very hard to explain what we saw... but it was a bit to real. Well because it was all real, and right there in front of us....
They have an area with fetal/babies from the moment of conception on up... and some with birth defects...... real real real..... This was the only area not okay for ButterBean.... she asked "Why are the babies crying" That is what she could see.... KWIM.... DH quickly took her to the next area because she was concerned.... some of them looked like you should just pick them right up.....
I am happy we went, and would go again if I had the chance.... But maybe next time without children.... The children were fine, and it was okay for them... just to give me a little more time to soak it all in.....
We didn't get any pictures, I am not ever sure if that would have been allowed.....
Peace & Happiness,

First Things First Check Here
Las Vegas Kids
Then Onto These Places
Conservatory at Bellagio
Crafted by a team of 100 horticulturalists, the Bellagio's conservatory features elegant, elaborate arrangements of plants and flowers in its bright, airy atrium.
FYI~ The Bellagio is not child friendly in general... the web site makes it seem like they are NOT welcome. But... really they are. I called and talked to the security at the Bellagio and they are very child friendly in the concervatory... The web site says NO strollers for any children not staying at the hotel. But security said YES bring a stroller for your little ones.... Also remember the gardens are always changing, so go often! It's FREE
Ethel M's Chocolate Factory
Ethel M Chocolates panders to the sweet tooth in all of us. Located seven miles from the Strip, its free admission entices us to the factory, through which many a visitor goes for a behind-the-scenes
look at the candy-making (and tasting) process.
FYI~ There is also the Desert Botanical Gardens!
I will try and post a monthly "Things To Do In Southern Nevada" so that we homeschoolers & Parents can get out there with our children and live it up!
Peace & Happiness,
Dana
