i finally got a pic of the big lug!  i ALMOST ran out the front door, then thought better of it

he's the "community bear" and he's probably about 500 lbs or so...he was hanging around in my yard for a while before he got bored and moved on. Interesting things you find when you live in the mountains

Oh wow, how exciting!!! But scary if the kids are in the yard... That is definitely something we don't have to worry about in Houston. Snakes, frogs, lizards, crawdads...but never a bear in sight! :-) Oh, and once there was a peacock in the front yard...weird, huh?
