this morning's update wasn't good

"he took a turn for the worse last night. His reaction to light stimuli has decreased. The docs had a serious conversation with Dad last night and he's noticed a change in their demeanor. He said it is not time for any final decisions yet, as there are EEGs and other tests that they want to run, but the outlook is bad. "

i haven't blogged here in a while, forgive me...you can always run over and peek at my Xanga, although it isn't much different

my Mom is living here now, and she needs some care...and while i hope i have been gracious TO her, i haven't been very gracious in my heart about it all  it's so hard to do these "nursing" type things, especially while i'm gagging (see the G.A.G post on Xanga) and i'm functioning on broken sleep. And my young boys aren't taking it well either (like when the social services are here and they decide to throw Legos at each other) because Mommy is spending way too much time doing other things andthen being too tired for them

i was about bursting this day until the social worker was here asking my Mom questions and she said she was glad she could be around people who love her and she loves...then all my selfish rantings came crashing down around my heart. SHE is t he one who will not be here much longer. I need to suck it up and get a grip

so if you don't see me around here too much, send up a prayer for us if you think about us. we appreciate it

can someone PLEASE explain to me why a DENTIST will not pull ot a rotting hull of a tooth??? why must i pay someone else who i don't know and do NOT trust in the LEAST to pull out a tooth???

okay, emabrrassing but true story, with lots of grody info...i cracked this rotting hull of a tooth about 4 yrs and 7 months ago...see, i KNOW that because i JUST found out i was expecting MrB so i didn't do anything about it....on and off it has bothered me, but nothing that would drive me to a dentist (there is a legitimate phobia for this)

about a year ago, a small piece of the filling in said tooth came out while flossing, which i don't often do and this is precisely the reason! you never know what will come out with that dangerous stuff!...since then, it's been challenging to not CHEW on my right side...

well, Sunday comes and i made some yummy Nathan's hot dogs...let me tell you, you have not LIVED till you've had a friend Nathan's hot dog, but i digress....as i took my FIRST BITE i was in massive pain, accompanied by a crunching noise that i knew had nothing to do with the hot dog in my mouth. I sprinted from the room to almost pass out from the pain over by the garbage can...my poor concerned hubbyman following me closely to figure out what just happened...since them i have been a quivering jellied mass of pain, with brief periods of  lucidity...sleep? fuggetabowtit...

my dental pusuits started Monday when i called my formally trusted dentist...she was on vacation but had room on Wednesday for a root canal...ummm, NO, i want it pulled doc! she replied that "you KNOW how i feel about that!" okay, i do, but don't you know how much freaking PAIN i am in???????? figuring she would relent, i soothed the day away with massive doses of Advil, which just barely takes the edge off  the pain.

she called today to give me the appt...she will NOT pull this tooth, and suggested an oral surgeon...HUH???? okay, i called another dentist up here, now near hysterical in pain, another one who won't extract a tooth, but gave me the number of the Oral Surgery clinic  who i'm sure i frightened because i was not upset and in hyerical pain as well...i have a 10:30 AM appt for tomorrow

while i just do NOT understand what is going on...i cannot WAIT for this tooth to be out of my face! Yes, i should have had it taken care of the day after i gave birth, so sue me, i didn't....i was busy

i will certainly check in if i am coherent tomorrow...the up side is that i can't really chew, so i should lose a few pound...how many calories does profound pain burn?

tragedy has struck the newly graduated class of '06 here. One of their freinds had a seizure and passed away last night

he was here often these past 4 years...eating, sleeping and whatnot. he was a very nice kid.

by this time in MY life (graduated senior) i had been to MANY wakes of friends who died, some accidently, some ill, most by stupid decisions. I was a "wake expert". Fortunately, my son hasn't had this experiance. One of his other friends is sick and won't go for tests. I hope this prompts him to go.

please pray as these kids have all weekend to brood and grieve. I'm not sure when the wake/funeral will be, or even what church his family attended...but there are alot of very unhappy, angry teens who will act really dumb...it's just a given.

My God, Accept My Heart Today

those of you who have been praying for Lindsey (the young gal on my prayer links) this was posted by her Dad on the Sonlight Forums yesterday...rejoice dear ones for this family!

In the last year Lindsey has endured 42 radiations(30 hip and 12 lungs), 35 days of extensive chemotherapy, 80 days of hospital confinement, 46 pints of whole blood, 78 units of platelets, a needle biopsy, 4 surgeries, and numerous x-rays, scans, and blood tests. Monday we got the report from Lindsey's tests last week and nearly all of the information is in. Her lungs were COMPLETELY clear of any type of tumor growth. They were vitually clear except for signs that she had radiation. Her MRI and PET scan showed no cancer growth or spreading anywhere. They are relooking at two lymph nodes in her neck one more time on the films because of a size difference but do not expect anything to be found that would indicate a concern. He has pretty much declared her cancer FREE. The plan for her now will be to have monthly chest x-rays and CT scans every three months. She will also have some special blood tests to determine how her immune system is doing. There are NO plans for any more radiation or chemptherapy of any kind. THANKS to everyone from all around the world who has prayed for Lindsey. You all have been part of the miracle from God. Are you ready to celebrate with all of us?

i have the honor of adding Lindsey to the prayer corner. Her father is Rick (or formally rsals) from the Sonlight Forums. She has been battling  a lung cancer for some time now (if that isn't completely correct, i will edit it later) and her father has been keeping Sonlight-land up to date on her progress. Please add her to your list. The link that is there is a fund raising link, Rick is working on a Caring Bridge site for her. She is having experimental chemo at  the moment (again, i will edit to correct any wrong info here, i'm shooting from a bad memory at the moment)

Rick posted this on 3/9 on the SL forums:

Lindsey will be released early this afternoon or late this morning. She will be closely monitored at home by the home health nurses and she will see the doctors again Monday. She will be on alot of medicines until further notice. I will post again form home.

for those of you wjho may not know who Zola is, he is a wonderful servant of Christ, Messianic pastor, teacher and evangelist. His TV shows always uplifted me! He is "accepting his promotion" and has been a testimony to all the hospital staff! Please read his site and pray for this man of God!

Big J has been accepted at KUTZTOWN for Fall 2006! he was waiting ever so IMpatiently to hear from them! His FAFSA is all completed and all we need now is the enrollment fee and send it in!
