My dear sweet hubby, Ron, and I have been married for 20+ years. We began dating during my freshman year at Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville. He is my college sweetheart. We have ministered together in various ministries during our lives together. We pastored for 10 years in Florida. We moved to TN in 2000 to Co-Pastor with some friends of ours. The Lord has given me a fabulous provider whom I love more than any words I write could ever express. He is now the CEO at our denomination's publishing company, Randall House Publications. I am honored to support him.
Our oldest child is named Michael. He is now officially a teenager, although I don't think I'm old enough to have a teenager. He is a very sweet and considerate young man. He is my thinker and my reader. He absorbs every piece of new information that he comes across. He loves playing soccer, riding his bike, skateboarding, reading, watching the History Channel, the Military Channel, ESPN and any documentary on TV. I am privileged to be his Mother.
Lauren is our youngest child. She is just 15 months behind her brother in age. She is wise beyond her years. She has a sharp-witted tongue (which sometimes has to be tamed), a quick sense of humor and a heart for people and animals. She loves organizing anything and everything. She loves being with her friends, singing, talking on her cell phone and playing soccer. I am blessed to be her Mother.
Just the knowledge that a good book is awaiting one at the end of a long day makes that day happier.

Today
is hump day - PRAISE THE LORD!! Understandably this is the
longest week!!!! Cruise in 3 days............But we are still
plugging along.
We are almost done with our paces for the week. They will take
their Science test tomorrow. They'll take Word Building and
English on Friday. Here's what we did today:
Word Building: They did 2 pages in their paces. They had to
choose the correct spelling word to fill in a blank in 10 given
sentences. Then they had to match 21 spelling words with the
proper definition. They had to complete all but 1 word of their
memory verse for this pace - which is Psalm 112:5 - "A good man...will
guide his affairs with discretion."
Science: They did 2 pages in their paces - they were a
self-test. Lauren missed 4 of 33 questions. Michael
missed 9 of 33. Not too bad really. But it will require
some review before test time tomorrow.
English: They did 1 page in their paces. They had to change a
list of given verbs to the present participle or past participle
forms. Michael got them all right and Lauren got them all
wrong. So, back to the drawing board on that one too. Oh
well - I just remind myself that if they were in traditional school
they would get left behind if they didn't grasp a concept by now.
So, I just keep the faith and plug along.
We also read our current God's World. It was great! There
were articles in it this time about Religious persecution in
China. That led to some great discussions about missionaries and
Christians being persecuted and thrown in jail or tortured.
We also read about an incredible discovery in Argentina of a sea
creature they named Dakosaurus. They are comparing it to a modern
day crocodile. However, where a croc's head is long with
many small teeth. The Dakosaurus' head is short. And it's
teeth are long and jagged. Real scary looking.
We read about CS Lewis' friends that influenced him around the time
that he wrote Chronicles of Narnia. They also were the ones who
led him to the Lord. Many people say that he wasn't a Christian.
But apparently he was. And J.R.R. Tolkien was as well.
Did you know that Bernie Marcus - the founder of Home Depot - donated
$200 million to build the world's largest aquarium? It is the
Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. $200 million dollars!!!!!!!
Amazing - it houses 2 of the world's largest fish. They have 2
whale sharks. They grow to be 40 feet long. Would you want
to see that coming at you in the ocean? Reminds me of that new
show on TV called Surface.
There was a man in Kansas who discovered a 1400 pound meteorite buried
7 feet underground. He discovered it with - are you ready? - a
metal detector!!!! Gotta get me one of those things! They
say it is worth a million dollars.
There were a couple of other interesting articles but it's time for me
to go get ready to meet dh and his board members for dinner.
I have noticed recently that you are assigning just one to two pages for some subjects? Is this just for the holidays? I feel like Bran is getting burned out on four pages a day and want to cut back. I know he would love this. My other thought was that you school LONGER into the year and only do TWO pages? Do you have a long term plan as to how you schedule OR do you take it week by week?
