About The Hunters
My dear sweet hubby, Ron, and I have been married for 20+ years. We began dating during my freshman year at Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville. He is my college sweetheart. We have ministered together in various ministries during our lives together. We pastored for 10 years in Florida. We moved to TN in 2000 to Co-Pastor with some friends of ours. The Lord has given me a fabulous provider whom I love more than any words I write could ever express. He is now the CEO at our denomination's publishing company, Randall House Publications. I am honored to support him.
Our oldest child is named Michael. He is now officially a teenager, although I don't think I'm old enough to have a teenager. He is a very sweet and considerate young man. He is my thinker and my reader. He absorbs every piece of new information that he comes across. He loves playing soccer, riding his bike, skateboarding, reading, watching the History Channel, the Military Channel, ESPN and any documentary on TV. I am privileged to be his Mother.
Lauren is our youngest child. She is just 15 months behind her brother in age. She is wise beyond her years. She has a sharp-witted tongue (which sometimes has to be tamed), a quick sense of humor and a heart for people and animals. She loves organizing anything and everything. She loves being with her friends, singing, talking on her cell phone and playing soccer. I am blessed to be her Mother.
Just the knowledge that a good book is awaiting one at the end of a long day makes that day happier.

I have seen a few news stories the last couple of days have really turned my stomach. They make me wonder what kind of place we live in. The most recent story was just on our local news here in Nashville. A Nashville kindergarten teacher and her husband were arrested for starving their dog to death. This dog was chained to a tree outside dying a slow and painful death. Apparently, they had another dog inside the house. Why on earth wouldn't this couple take the dog to the pound or even unchain the dog from the tree and let him go find his own food? Why was it necessary to torture the animal? Cruelty to animals is such a useless crime. The teacher said that she was mad because after all "it was just a dog". Doesn't that make you want to slap her? It does me!! And it's especially disturbing because she is a kindergarten teacher. Now there's a real mentor right there, folks!
The second story I wanted to talk about was on last night's national news. Some of you might have heard it. Planned Parenthood is going to sell GIFT CERTIFICATES for their services. In case some of you don't know - planned parenthood performs ABORTIONS!! GIFT CERTIFICATES FOR ABORTIONS. I actually got instantly nauseous when I heard this story. And what is so scary is that PEOPLE WILL BUY THEM!!! I thought it was disgusting! Last night's episode of Private Practice addressed the abortion issue when a doctor joined the practice and wanted to perform abortions. The director of the practice did not want it to happen because she is a fertility doctor. The new doctor was allowed to stay and perform the abortion. The last line on the episode last night was of Naomi saying "a baby died today". How many MORE babies will die now that people are gifting their deaths to women?
I can't think of a better way to close this sad entry then quoting II Chronicles 7:14 - "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
Well, we now have one more LEGAL driver in the house. Michael took his test this morning and got his learner's permit. He only missed 3 questions out of 30. Two of those were on drunk driving and one was on child safety seats. So, we are very proud of him! Now the the fun begins - letting him behind the wheel. Before he and Ron got in the car at the Driver's License place he told Ron he didn't want to drive to school. So, one of us will take him out this evening and start counting the hours for him. He is already a good driver. So, it's just a matter of practicing and building his confidence now.
This blog is under construction. Not sure how long that will take. Bear with me - I'm hoping it won't be long. I do still need to find a couple of more things. I was just getting really tired of the pink and green flowers. Thanks for your patience.
