Things That Make Me Smile

Seeing the kids reading their Bibles on their own
Hearing the ocean
Smelling a cake baking
Remembering our wedding day
Singing in the church choir
Shopping for my family
Feeling good
Reading in the tub
A quiet house
Watching a funny movie with the kids
Seeing my kids playing a game together
Ron's little finger dance
Hearing my kids being excited about church
Watching Ron play with Faith (our dog)
Hearing Ron snoring beside me after he has been gone on a long trip
Chatting with special friends
Feeling hot sand under my feet on a beach somewhere
Game night with Brian & Kim and kids
Spending one on one time with Kim
Double Dating With Brian and Kim
A clean house
Sitting on my front porch in my new rockers
Walking on a cool evening with my family
Losing weight
Seeing my kids make a great play on the soccer field

About The Hunters

My dear sweet hubby, Ron, and I have been married for 20+ years. We began dating during my freshman year at Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville. He is my college sweetheart. We have ministered together in various ministries during our lives together. We pastored for 10 years in Florida. We moved to TN in 2000 to Co-Pastor with some friends of ours. The Lord has given me a fabulous provider whom I love more than any words I write could ever express. He is now the CEO at our denomination's publishing company, Randall House Publications. I am honored to support him.

Our oldest child is named Michael. He is now officially a teenager, although I don't think I'm old enough to have a teenager. He is a very sweet and considerate young man. He is my thinker and my reader. He absorbs every piece of new information that he comes across. He loves playing soccer, riding his bike, skateboarding, reading, watching the History Channel, the Military Channel, ESPN and any documentary on TV. I am privileged to be his Mother.

Lauren is our youngest child. She is just 15 months behind her brother in age. She is wise beyond her years. She has a sharp-witted tongue (which sometimes has to be tamed), a quick sense of humor and a heart for people and animals. She loves organizing anything and everything. She loves being with her friends, singing, talking on her cell phone and playing soccer. I am blessed to be her Mother.

In a Nutty Mood

Posted in Saturday Six

1. You’re ordering a hot fudge sundae. Do you order it with nuts or without?

No nuts for me please - just ice cream and hot fudge.

2. You’re buying a jar of peanut butter: which brand do you buy most often? Creamy or crunchy?

We don't usually eat a lot of peanut butter.  But I like Jiff.  I like smooth and creamy.  Yummmm

3. What was the last kind of nut you remember eating?

This morning I ate a Snickers.  So, I guess that means a regular peanut.

4. Take the quiz: What nut are you?

You Are a Hazelnut

You are very unique and distinct. You may even freak some people out.
Most people don't really know how to interact with you.
You get along best with anyone who is super sweet.
But you really do get along with almost anyone. You just need a chance to wow them.

5. This one will do a lot to indicate where you’re from: when you hear someone refer to “boiled peanuts,” are you intrigued or grossed out?

Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmm - The best kind is in a big pot on the side of the road being sold by the old man sitting on tailgate of his rundown pick up truck.  Yummmm  On the road between Montgomery AL and Dothan AL there is a little place called The Nut Hut.  You can get some good ones there too.

6. What is your favorite synonym for the other kind of nut, as in “a lunatic?”

Hmmmm - "crazy" maybe.

Saturday Six - 2/9 - Normal?

Posted in Saturday Six

1. Do you think that you tend to ask more questions or answer other people’s?

I definitely ask more questions than I answer.  I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer - I admit it!

2. With how many people are you generally completely honest all the time?

I'm not quite sure what this question is asking in relation to COMPLETELY honest ALL the time.  But I am usually honest about most things with Ron, of course.  I don't know if the question is asking if I tell everything going on in my mind at any given time.  THAT I don't do - mostly because it's just not worth sharing.

3. Do you think you lose your temper more or less than the average person?

I do have a temper.  I hate it.  I hate to feel like I lose control.  If someone loses control of their anger they are responding in the wrong manner to a situation.  I don't believe that God is pleased with us when we lose control of our temper.  If we are being obedient to the Word of God then according to the book of James 1:19 & 20 we will "...be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires."  I believe if we are being obedient by being "slow to become angry" we will NOT fly off the handle.  This is a matter that I struggle with regularly.  It is a constant battle that MUST be won!

4. Take the quiz: What’s Normal About You…And What’s Not?

You Are Fairly Normal

You scored 60% normal on this quiz

Like most people you are normal in some ways...
But you aren't a completely normal person. You're a little weird too!

Why You Are Normal:

You think glasses can make someone more attractive

You'd rather have rats than cockroaches in your home

If you had to, you rather live without music and still have laughter

You prefer a good meal to a good nap

You prefer fiction to non fiction

Why You Aren't Normal:

You find the Chicken Dance to be the more embarrassing dance

You are no longer with your first love

You would rather be tan than pale

You don't keep up with your horoscope

You prefer your family to your friends

5. Of the reasons listed to explain why you are normal, which did you find to be the biggest surprise?

None of them were really a surprise to me.  But the most disturbing would be that I would prefer to have rats than roaches in my home.  ICK!!!!  I don't want either one!

6. Of the reasons listed to explain why you are not normal, which did you find to be the biggest surprise?

Again, none of them were really a surprise to me.  I really didn't like having to chose between my family and my friends.  My friends, Brian & Kim, ARE family to us.

Saturday Six - Christmas Version

Posted in Saturday Six

This fun entry is the questions from last Saturday's Saturday Six.  The one's for this week aren't posted yet.  Since I didn't do last week's and they look fun I thought I would go ahead and do them now.

1. You have to leave a snack for Santa, but you’re concerned about his health so you don’t want to leave sweets: what healthier snack would you choose instead?

I would leave him veggies and dip.  I love munching on carrots, cauliflower or baby tomatoes with veggie dip.  Yummmmmmm  And I would also leave him a bottle of water on ice.  I'm not a big milk drinker - although I know it is good for you.  But, hey, water is good for you too.

2. Santa decides to be especially generous this year, and says he’ll bring you a car. What make and model would you like to find in your driveway on Christmas morning?

A black X-Type Jaguar.  I've loved the Jaguars for ages.  I wonder if I will ever get one.  I won't hold my breath.

3. Santa is also giving you a vacation to any spot in the world for a week. Where would you like to go?

I would want to go to Australia.  I doubt I will ever get there on my own.  I would also like to go on Safari in Africa.

4. Take the quiz: What will be in your Christmas stocking?

Your Christmas Stocking Will Be Filled With a Puppy

Well - one cute, soft, cuddly puppy...
And a very soiled Christmas stocking.

5. When was the last time you had a picture taken with Santa Claus?

Too long ago to remember.  I would love to go to Petsmart this season and get Faith's picture taken with Santa.  Have you all seen that advertised?  How cute would that be?  It would definitely be an AWWWWWW moment!!

6. If Santa could bring you 12 of any single item mentioned in the lyrics of “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” which gift would you choose and why?

A partridge in a pear tree.  Who doesn't need 12 partridges in 12 pear trees???  What is a partridge anyway?????????
