Things That Make Me Smile

Seeing the kids reading their Bibles on their own
Hearing the ocean
Smelling a cake baking
Remembering our wedding day
Singing in the church choir
Shopping for my family
Feeling good
Reading in the tub
A quiet house
Watching a funny movie with the kids
Seeing my kids playing a game together
Ron's little finger dance
Hearing my kids being excited about church
Watching Ron play with Faith (our dog)
Hearing Ron snoring beside me after he has been gone on a long trip
Chatting with special friends
Feeling hot sand under my feet on a beach somewhere
Game night with Brian & Kim and kids
Spending one on one time with Kim
Double Dating With Brian and Kim
A clean house
Sitting on my front porch in my new rockers
Walking on a cool evening with my family
Losing weight
Seeing my kids make a great play on the soccer field

About The Hunters

My dear sweet hubby, Ron, and I have been married for 20+ years. We began dating during my freshman year at Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville. He is my college sweetheart. We have ministered together in various ministries during our lives together. We pastored for 10 years in Florida. We moved to TN in 2000 to Co-Pastor with some friends of ours. The Lord has given me a fabulous provider whom I love more than any words I write could ever express. He is now the CEO at our denomination's publishing company, Randall House Publications. I am honored to support him.

Our oldest child is named Michael. He is now officially a teenager, although I don't think I'm old enough to have a teenager. He is a very sweet and considerate young man. He is my thinker and my reader. He absorbs every piece of new information that he comes across. He loves playing soccer, riding his bike, skateboarding, reading, watching the History Channel, the Military Channel, ESPN and any documentary on TV. I am privileged to be his Mother.

Lauren is our youngest child. She is just 15 months behind her brother in age. She is wise beyond her years. She has a sharp-witted tongue (which sometimes has to be tamed), a quick sense of humor and a heart for people and animals. She loves organizing anything and everything. She loves being with her friends, singing, talking on her cell phone and playing soccer. I am blessed to be her Mother.

Just the knowledge that a good book is awaiting one at the end of a long day makes that day happier. - Kathleen Norris

Sunday Seven - 7/21/07

Posted in Sunday Seven

This is a place where I can finish one week and begin the next by listing seven things I'm grateful for -- or by telling of seven meaningful events from the past -- or letting you all know of seven upcoming events on my horizon.

I'm grateful for:
    1.  Ron - the most gentle, sweet, understanding, strong and respectful husband in the world
    2.  Michael - a sweet, kind, thoughtful, respectful and intelligent 13 year old boy in the world
    3.  Lauren - a beautiful, tenderhearted, talented, friendly and sweet 12 year old girl in the world
    4.  Kim - the best friend a girl could ever have
    5.  The Donelson Fellowship - a church full of people with big hearts who strive to serve the Lord and each other
    6.  Christian parents - parents who brought me up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord
    7.  My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ - who loved/loves me at my best and even at my worst

Meaningful things from my past:
    1.  December 7, 1974 - my spiritual birthday
    2.  June 20, 1987 - the day I married the man of my dreams
    3.  August 15, 1990 - the day our first child went to spend eternity in the loving arms of Jesus - waiting for us to come and meet him one day
    4.  November 14, 1993 - the day that Michael Devon came into the world and blessed our home by joining our family
    5.  February 24, 1995 - the day that Lauren Ashleigh came into the world and blessed our home by joining our family
    6.  March 10, 1999 - the day that Michael and Lauren got saved
    7.  December 2001 - when Ron was hired by our denomination (Free Will Baptist) to serve as CEO of our denominational publishing company - The Lord had been preparing all of us for this position for all the previous years.

Upcoming events:
    1.  August 13 - the day the kids return to public school after 5 years of homeschooling
    2.  Summer 2010 -- when the kids graduate from high school and begin college
    3.  The day that each of the kids get married and I become a mother-in-law
    4.  The day I become a grandmother
    5.  When Michael and Lauren and their families spend Christmas together with us
    6.  Any future cruise vacations (I love cruising!!!)
    7.  When Ron retires and we spend the rest of our lives traveling together

Have you ever watched a television show or movie and thought, “I’d like to visit that place”? If so, this week’s question is all for you.

On to this week's question!

THIS WEEK'S QUESTION:
Name seven fictional locations (or fictionalized real locations) from TV or movies that you’d like to visit.

1.  The island in Hawaii where LOST is filmed

2.  Las Vegas to work with the CSI team

3.  Jericho Kansas

4.  Genoa City - Young & The Restless

5.  Wherever Survivor is filming - but I wouldn't want to be a contestant

6.  The island where Tom Hanks is shipwrecked on in the movie Cast Away

7.  Beaverton, Oregon to live for a day with the Roloffs (TLC's Little People, Big World)
