Hollylooyah: A Homeschooling Adventure

• Jun. 28, 2006 - Teamwork makes it happen.

June 12- June 28th--  Throughout the month of June, Noah has been working on his speech goal of 8 verbalizations a day and one feeding a day by mouth.  We haved been to an Iowa Cubs baseball game, the Greek food fair, church, the library, working in the community garden, the park, the science center, coffee shops for breakfast, the store numerous times, the mall, on walks in the neighborhood and in other neighborhoods, swimming three times, and boy has it been fun.  Andy has enjoyed all the fun activity too.  Ahhhh summer.  Although we all have sore throats and runny noses now!!!! grr....  The kids have been playing with other children in the neighborhood lately.  Noah has almost reached his BIG GOAL of one feeding a day by mouth for 14 days.  He missed day 13 because of his cold, so we will have two make up days for it... I am very strict.  What can I say?

Today, he enjoyed licking a popsicle and I was able to get him to allow a spoon with Pediasure on it up to his lips.  I also chilled the spoon sometimes to see how he would respond.

Andy has been a bundle of energy.  He has been having fun with the neighborhood kids and playing board games with me.  He may be signing up for soccer again this fall.  We need to see if it works out.  Also, Noah may be signed up for a dance group for people with disabilities.  I think they would both like those activities.
