Hollylooyah: A Homeschooling Adventure

• Sep. 25, 2006 - Great Summer!

Well, this summer was really fun.  We went to Colorado again.  This time for a wedding.  I had just found out that I was pregnant, and was feeling really sick.  For the rest of the summer, I basically found myself just trying not to get sick and to keep up with the boys.  Noah really missed working with me, and I hope not to take such a big summer vacation in the future.  One idea I found for organizing the school year is to do it in trimesters.  You work for three months on and take a month off.  I might begin to do this.  I really like the idea.  Although instead of taking the month completely off, I think it would be fun to just modify school so that we do more trips and more fun things.  Both of the kids really benefit from the one on one attention that "school" offers, so I am sure that they would not want to give it up completely for an entire month.

Anyway, Andy had a fun birthday.  He had a pirate party and invited the neighborhood kids.  We had treasure and everything!

About Me

This is a journal of one families adventure into the crazy, mixed up, but amazing LIFE of homeschooling. You can see the fun, the difficulties, the personal story of a family homeschooling two wonderful boys-- one autistic six year old and one high energy preschooler. We've been to school and now we are returning home to see how we fare.
