Hollylooyah: A Homeschooling Adventure

• Oct. 19, 2006 - New songs, new goals met, new skills

October 16-19

10/16

Today Noah drank 8 oz of Pediasure, went potty and made 25 verbalizations.  We sang Old MacDonald with tape.  We read Night Rabbits and Sally Goes to the Farm.  We did our tracing with lines, A, a, O, o, S, s, and M, m--  some on tracing cards  and some on paper.  We did a cutting and pasting activity.  We colored to music.  We worked on Treasures that are Red-- A game I made up where we find sparkly red things.  I am going to use it for all the colors and eventually turn it into a sorting project.

I have been using our skill songs again and was trying to think of some new things to do.  With Popcorn we could actually pop popcorn. Listen and move would be fun with Andy to improve imitation.

10/17

 Mommy was on bedrest.

10/18

We did lots of music.  Down on the Farm, with animals.  Traced lines and letters A,M,S,and O.  We did red treasures again.  We did Old MacDonald and he said hen, duck, and pig on his own.  He drank 1 oz.  He did 24 verbalizations.

We met our February speech goal--- way ahead of schedule!

10/19

Noah was very interactive today.  We played with puppets.  We read Chicka Chicka 123.  We did our tracing of lines and letters.  We worked on a following direction worksheet.  We also did a cutting and gluing activity.  Noah wanted to read  busy year, so I did.  We did Old MacDonald and Jingle Bells with Bells.

About Me

This is a journal of one families adventure into the crazy, mixed up, but amazing LIFE of homeschooling. You can see the fun, the difficulties, the personal story of a family homeschooling two wonderful boys-- one autistic six year old and one high energy preschooler. We've been to school and now we are returning home to see how we fare.
