I have been enjoying my time as part of the HomeschoolBlogger.com community.  I really enjoy researching ideas for my daily posts, on family, kid and teen activities, news and contests.  I recently received an unexpected comment, from my husband.  I had no idea that he's been reading my blog.  He wanted me to know how much he's been enjoying reading it.  That he sees so much of me in it.

When I can set aside the time, I love visiting other blogs.  It's great to see so many homeschoolers and homebased learners coming onboard.  Sharing their experiences and information is a constant inspiration.

– Thank you for making this community possible.  -  Rona Berry-Morin

Leave a testimony

When I'm at my vendor booth at homeschool conventions, I often meet moms who say they have a hard time finding other homeschooling moms to befriend. This past year, I've been pointing them to HomeschoolBlogger.com. I tell them to visit the blogs and leave comments at the ones they like best, and before they know it, they'll have wonderful friends! I've sure gotten to know a lot of awesome people thanks to HomeschoolBlogger.com.

Prepare & Pray / Blessed Assurance Unit Studies

Overcomers Books & Supplies
POB 892 / Libby, MT 59923

We love Unit Studies in our homeschool! What's not to love? Curriculum and teaching covered under one base topic that covers all subjects (we add a solid Math program in as well)! Prepare & Pray and Blessed Assurance are not just any Unit Study though! Based on the literary classic "Swiss Family Robinson" in Prepare and Pray and "Sign of the Beaver" and "Robinson Crusoe" in Blessed Assurance (these titles are family favorites!), these Units are full of fun and adventure, as well as academics and they include projects that are family friendly and useful!...

Silly Si  by crazybusy
First of all, I don't know who gave this child permission to turn FIVE!? I just had him several months ago. I don't know how that is possible but Josiah turned five just 3 days ago. He is definitely the family clown and loves to make people laugh... even if it is during a worship service. *sigh* My children participated with a group of children that performed at three different churches these past few weeks. Most of the children are from the local Christian school and they had been practicing during school hours, so my children didn't quite know the (more)

TOS Crew Review: ACT Advantage-Explore and Plan  by jotsfromjoan
This material was sent to me free of charge in order to allow me to write this non-compensated review, and I am glad it was. Advantage is an appropriate name for this program because that is exactly what it gives the student using these materials.            We live in a state which requires a standardized test to be administered every year. Needless to say, Amelia has had plenty of experience with this type of test. Since we have already worked on other similar type programs, she was not happy about doing another one. Fortunately, especially for me, she views these tests as (more)
Tightwad Tuesday~ Making Money Saving Goals For 2010  by Canadagirl
. Making Money Saving Goals For 2010 . This time of year I am reflecting on how well the year went for us financially.   I look at how well we cut back on costs and how well we attained our goals that we had made.  Here are some of the goals we had made.... . I want to use up fabric to make gift bags and other sewing projects from... Buckles and Bobbins sewing book.                I want to use up yarn from my yarn collection to make small project for example like fingerless gloves , mug cozies, and other small projects. Make beaded projects for gifts with my bead stash. I (more)

Wow! it's been a while. Is anyone even still checking in to see if I'm blogging? There really has been lots going on around here I just haven't had time to blog about it. Sam is growing quickly! She's still a little thing. She weighs 11 pounds and 12 ounces now. She will be 6 months old on the tenth of January. It really doesn't seem like she should be that old yet! Today she laughed out loud! It was so cute. I don't think she had ever really laughed before today. Tommy was playing with her and picking her up (more)
Putting a Puzzle Together  by dbennett20
Hubby got back home with our two nephews. We gave them their Christmas presents, played some video games, watched a couple of shows and put a few puzzles together. There is currently a 500 piece puzzle on our kitched table that we have all been working on. After we got our packaging and shipping done today we have just had a lazy day and have been enjoying it. Signing off for the night. The Bennett's  (more)
The Smiths 2009  by KiwiSmithFamily
The Smiths 2009   When I, Craig,  left Air New Zealand back in 1982, we really thought our days of flying off overseas were finished. This year surely laid that myth to rest. Pete catches some Zs with Natialie after a night of firefighting near Bendigo.    Barbara flew off to Coghills Creek, Australia (near Ballarat, VIC) for 2 weeks at the beginning of February to get time with a new granddaughter, Natalie, born to Pete & Genevieve on 20 December 2008. While there, since the fruit trees were laden, Barbara and Sue de Deugd, Pete’s mum, worked overtime to (more)
Beautiful Field Trip  by Joesette
I love field trips!  This one didn't interest the kids as much as it did my husband and I...but hey, that's ok; we like to do stuff too you know! We visited Trinity Episcopal Church, the oldest church in our city.  Three churches have been constructed on this site.  The first structure was built in 1763; the second in 1830 and the current building was completed in 1855.  It is INCREDIBLE (sadly, my photos are not). There is a lot of history to the building.  The architecture is incredible!  There is no indoor plumbing and the electricity was added very discreetly.  There (more)
Colonial Williamsburg: Homework from Lafayette and the Tailor  by Laurie
Today the kids and I drove down to Colonial Williamsburg.  Back in October, we made some new homeschool friends while visiting there.  Her kids like CW historic costumes just like my kids do.  We traded e-mails and I recently heard from the mom, saying they'd be in CW this week, could we make it down to meet them? Of course!  I told the kids about it and they wanted to know who would be at the Tucker House that week.  When I checked the schedule, I saw Lafayette is now scheduled for Mondays.  When I told my kids that, while we were (more)
The Kitchen Project  by Yvonne
What do you do when your husband is given the week off after Christmas and you can't afford to go away??? You work on an unfinished household project!   When we moved into this house, the kitchen cabinets had all been painted white. I didn't really care for it, but we decided to start working on them later. After a couple of years, we decided to paint them blue, but we didn't prep properly and the blue paint started coming off. So the project sat for a very long time...until yesterday.   Here is what the kitchen looked like before we started:   After two (more)
Chaos Reigns  by Cappuccinosmom
Well, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  We had a happy one, if somewhat eventful.  In the weeks preceding Christmas, when mom was fretting about not having sent out Christmas letters, I suggested we just print out on little strips of paper "Chaos reigns" and stick them in cards to send out.  Anybody who knows what our family's been up to this year would completely understand, and it would be a great way to get a giggle.  She wouldn't go for that, though, so my brilliant idea will just have to live on in the title of my (more)
Canning Pork Roast  by For Their Future
CANNING PORK ROAST Last week, King Ed brought home two huge packages of pork roast (two large boston butt pork roast in each pack), from the store. He said one was $14 and the other was $12, so he could not pass them up. It was a good week to can, since we were in between just finishing Kindergarten and starting 1st Grade! Here is the first roast. Remember there were 4 of these to do! Two bowels Full! Yippee! I had to cut out a lot of fat. If I had been making sausage, I would have left (more)
Kindergarten Gratuate! ALREADY!!  by For Their Future
Congratulations to Princess S! This is hard for me to believe, but my oldest baby has completed Kindergarten! And she did so well! We are so proud of her! Her daddy is just the most intelligent and smartest man in the whole world, so I know she is taking after him! She is her Daddy's girl too! So sweet! Well last week end we had a little graduation party for her, to celebrate her finishing her Kindergarten books! She was excited to pick what kind of cake and picked chocolate with chocolate icing! That made Daddy happy! Lol! He dislikes the (more)
