Heritage of Home

Start Of A New School Year

How exciting it was to start the new school year!  We decided to make mini offices.

With 4 of my oldest children at the table doing homeschool, it can get loud and distracting.  So this year I found a neat homeschool idea.  Mini Offices!

The children really enjoyed creating them.

I also hope these mini offices are going to help some of the children to remember certain facts.

Some can't keep a straight face!

I need better lighting in our school/dining room.

The 13 year old looks real enthused.  He got over it.  Instead of using file folders, I opted to buy the large cardboard science project 3-way from walmart.  We bought 3 large and 1 small.  I measured them and cut them all in half.  Then I down loaded as many mini office items for free that I could.  Lapbook Lessons had most the the free links if anyone is interested.  It worked out great.

It works really well!  The quitest homeschooling morning ever!

This is where I homeschool our twin girls.  The picnic basket holds their books.  So, Eva, can you guess where this table is?  Yep, the kitchen.  Between the beautiful bench you blessed me with and the middle counter!  This works out so well!

These two cabinets hold their other homeschool needs.

They made mini offices too!  I just forgot to take a picture of them.  Maybe next time.

Our first week back to school was great.  Keeping up with everything is going fairly well.  I am praying for wisdom and understanding in the planning phases that come and go.  I want to be a mom who is prepared.

On a side note.  I made homemade granola bars last night.  So easy!  We paid almost $4 for Kashi a couple of weeks ago.  6 Bars!

Last night, I made 15 bars for a little less that $3.

Can you tell I'm excited about this?

Praise the Lord for He is Good!

Your mini offices are so fun looking. I think they would really help keep down on distractions and what a neat way to have information at their fingertips!

Thank you so much for your sweet comments. The Lord has truly been gracious to us. And the girls' surprise will be revealed soon, hopefully later this week! :)

These look great! What a neat idea! I am sure I would need them if mine were sharing a table. For now, I can have them turn their desks in opposite directions! :) I also love the work area for the twins girls. It took me a minute to recognize where the tabe was sitting, but I did figure it out before I read your note! :) LOL I love to move furniture too so you know I love the changes. It makes me curious though to see the rest of the living room! ;)

Okay, so the next post is the granola recipe right?

I love you so much! I have been thinking about you! Praying for you and your school time!

Talk to you soon! Love, Eva

What a cute idea! We just started hs last week. It can get complicated and I'm only schooling two and a preschooler. WHEW!!! It was nice seeing a bit of your school and children.

Today I just dug up my potato harvest, it was so exciting. I wasn't sure if I would find anything. I'm so glad we did! I have a blog scheduled to post on Saturday morning about it.

Hope you have a blessed week!!

Description
The Heritage of Home is Christ in us the hope of glory! When we are adopted into HIS family we receive a heritage passed down of the Heavenly Father. The Heritage of Home is knowing your place and standing there, confident in the knowledge that you are doing and being what you are called to be. I am a living testimony of thes fact. I do waver sometimes, when I get sidetracked by the world and even some people who are just trying to help, and sometimes I sidetrack myself! So, being renewed by the transforming of the Holy Bible, Christ's Word, I receive my inheritance daily, hourly, minute by minute. Not sidetracked but focused. (when I STAY in HIS Word!) Heritage of Home is learning and teaching how to live and love and be loved.
