TAGGED?????

Well, I have never been tagged before, so this is new to me! But it sounds fun! So here are the rules I have to post before I get started:

1) The player starts with 8 random facts about herself.

2)The person who is tagged must post on her own blog her answers and she must post the rules first.

3) Then the player must pick 8 people and tag them. Then leave them a note so that they will know that they have been tagged.

Eight things about me!

1. I have had the honor of being married to my very 1st boyfriend (from 4th grade!) He is the only one I have ever shared a kiss with. I have known him since 1st grade.

2. Even as a young girl, I always just wanted to grow up and get married and have children! I didn't want to go to college or find a career.

3. I also feel compelled every year to have a garden and I don't even like vegetables!!

4. I enjoy sewing, but have a hard time doing it, knowing that I HAVE to!

5. I  am the mom of twins, who are 3 yrs old. I wish I was a writer b/c I would have some funny stories to tell! My husband says....everyone should have to have a set!!

6. I love to read the Elsie Dinsmore books put out by Vision Forum. They keep me captivated!

7. I am always eager to buy exercise videos, but after doing them 1 or 2 times they usually sit on a shelf! :(

8. I have a weakness for baby animals. I hate to see one in need, I am always compelled to try and take care of it.

So, there is a little bit about me.  I don't even know 8 people to tag, so  I will do as many as I can!  I am tagging lazycreek, JulieClark, MIW, and loving2bhome.

Getting things back in order!!

Well, it has been a while since I have even looked at my own blog. But I think things are getting better now.

It didn't take long to let my hubby know that we were expecting again. By now he knows what to look for!! My morning sickness has been different with this one though. I feel like God has blessed me greatly for it. I would feel pretty good (just really tired!!!!) during the day, and then in the evening I would feel eally yukky. But this is good for me, because by the time I would feel bad it was just about bedtime for my youngest children. So I would put them to bed and be free to be sick!

I have to say though, that I don't think I could have gotten through the last 2 months without my 2 oldest boys(ages 11 and 13). They would fix breakfast for everyone in the mornings so I could rest, they have been doing all house work and the oldest has fixed supper MANY times also. They have truly been a blessing to this Momma!!

Now that I'm starting to feel better, I'm starting to think about school and what we want to do for this coming year, what would be best for each child and how to work things around another new baby. It is getting more difficult for me b/c I have as many not in school as I do in school. If there is anyone out there that may have suggestions I am open to ideas!

I hope all that read this are doing well and have a blessed day in the Lord!

trying to keep up!!!

Well, I'm on day 17 of weight loss challenge. I am still the same as I was on day 8. I haven't lost anymore since then. That is discouraging to me. It always makes me want to quit when I get to a stand still like that. I had a set of twins born almost 3 years ago by c-section, and they say that it is so hard to lose after one of those. I am finding that to be right. But I am determined that I can do it. My over-all health has been better. I am very thankful for that!!!

Ok, so I'm going to keep on trying and with God's help I can overcome this stand still!!

Information for home business!

Alot of people, especially homeschool moms, have begun looking to start a home based business to help meet the financial needs of the family or even, like me, to bring their husbands home.

I wanted to share with you an e-book that my husband and I have found. It is free!!!!! It's not often that you can find anything free anymore. But this book will help us moms (and dads) to know what we are getting into and what not to get into. This book offers free training once you download it. The information is free and very helpful! You will not get any sales calls about products or anything like that. If we had not found this we would have ended up in a bad deal. We were just getting ready to go with a certain company, until we found this book. We would have been in a mess, but the information we found was very helpful!  We are so thankful that we found it and that it is free, so we can share it with lots of other people  that may be struggling with the right thing to do.

I encourage you to take a look at it if you are at all thinking about a home business.

Weight loss challenge day 2 and 3

I said I would try to post everyday....somedays I may not be able to. But I am ready to give an account for the yesterday and today.

Yesterday, I lost 3 pounds. It felt good to get on the scale and see it go down. I watched what I ate closely. On day 1 and on day 2,  I rode my bike around town. I am very out of shape!!!! I told my husband I would have to take a break for a day or two. I feel like I have been riding a horse.LOL I told my 11 year old son yesterday when he was riding with me, that I my hiney was getting sore.....he said, " why don't you stand up then?" I didn't like that response. Doesn't he know that I'm supposed to losse weight sitting down? I decided he was not the person to share things like that with anymore!!

Today, day 3, I lost 1 pound. I am feeling better. I have only had the pressure in my chest 1 time since I started. My blood pressure has been wonderful! I have taken out all sweets, which is a big thing for me because I am a junk food junkie! But I haven't craved it at all yet. We did treat our children to McDonalds today because my husband is going to be out of town for a few days and we wanted to do something special with them. I did have a Dr. Pepper to drink, and a burger and fries. But I haven't had anything but water since then, that was around 1:30. It is around 9:00 now and I'm starting to get hungry.

Over all I fel like I am doing pretty good. But I know the hard times are coming. The temptations will kick in and I will have to be praying for strength!

Thanks for reading,

Lisa

Weight Loss Challenge starting early day 1

I decided to start my weight loss challenge early. So today is Day 1 for me. I had a little motivation added to it for me. My husband has decided to challenge me and do it with me! So, the race is on. I am really excited.

I need to also explain where I am coming from on this. It isn't just the weight....it's my over-all health. I have 9 children. I think my body is drained of anything good for itself! For many months now, I have been having pressure in my chest and difficulty breathing. My blood pressure has been through the roof, and some days I have NO energy. I have been to the dr. I even spent a night in the hospital b/c they thought I was having a heart attack. All my tests came out ok, they are relating it to stress, so wanted me to take anti-depresants. I don't want to go that route. So my husband and I have looked into some health issues and found some products we are giving a try.

With all that, the weight loss will be an added benefit to having my energy and health back. I am over-weight by about  55-60 lbs. So my journey begins today!!

The Challenge of my Life!!

Well, I am trying something new. I found some information.....and I am going to do a 30 day Weight Loss Challenge. I am going to TRY and post everyday on my blog to keep a sort of diary. My plan is to start this on May 7, 2007. I will share my health issues that I am having now and have been having for many months, and how I am feeling each day. I will share my beginning weight and what I lose along the way.

I hope you will add me to your friends list and come along on my journey. When I find out how it is working...I will share WHAT I am doing!

So many thoughts!!!

I have been working on my website, trying to get articles written and ideas down on paper. It is amazing how many different LITTLE things pop up. Simple things that we take for granted that we know, suddenly become important, when I think about teaching someone else what I know. So I would challenge you, to look at the everyday things you do around your home. Are they worth sharing? They probably are! If the little things you do at your home are important enough to become habit to you, then why not share them so that younger and less experienced young ladies can benefit.

Take some time and think about what Titus 2:4&5 really mean. See if you are willing to take time out to help do this.

In Christ's Love,

Lisa

The reason for this blog!

Hi, my name is Lisa. I am a homeschool mom of 9. I have been thinking alot lately about having a home-based business. One of the recurring things I'm coming across is, "see a need and fill it!" So I have been thinking.....and what I have come up with , is that there are so many young people out there that have no idea how to run a home.

Can you imagine being a young girl in love and planning a wedding, but have no idea how to fix Macaroni and Cheese? What are you going to fix for your sweetheart when the honey-moon is over? What if a button falls off of his favorite shirt? What if he leaves an ink pen in his pocket and it gets put in the laundry? What if you accidently spill a drink on the carpet? Are you going to know what to do?

My goal is to meet this need! I want to be able to equip young girls or even young ladies, already married, to be able to handle these situations. So, in my community where I live I am wanting to provide tutoring in this area. I am looking for helpful hints and tips to learn and teach. If you know something that could be of help, PLEASE add a post!!!

Thanks for looking here!

Lisa
