Hurt foot, and backyard fun

So, the other day, Lexi pulled a drawer out a wee bit too hard and smashed her big toe. *shudder* I haven't had time to blog about it til now, but suffice it to say it was rather..........gross. I also learned that evidently she is a bit queasy at the sight of blood because every time we had to change the "dressing" (a couple band-aids, at that point), her lips would lose color and she would look ....not great... and tell me she feels ready to faint. I would lay her down while I worked on her dressing, Abby would run and get hera cup of ice water and a straw, and that was how we spent Saturday morning, every couple of hours. Fun times!

Eventually, when it seemed to keep bleeding, I called the Ped., who suggested we go to urgent care. Had x-rays done and saw the doctor, who assured us she had not broken anything, and that he just wanted to bandage her up (rather than drain her toenail *shiver*), and in a few days she'd be fine. Well, for the last 24 hours, she has gone without her bandages, and is doing very well!

Below are a couple snapshots of her foot :

Also, yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon, while Daddy was cooking out, the kids had some backyard fun. Below are some pictures of Noah attacking his sisters with the hose :

Ah, to be the only boy and the youngest sibling.

These pics make me laugh, but they also warm my heart. It is such a blessing to have a houseful of children.
