Friday, May 9, 2008 .. Graduation Day ..

Good Evening, we've had an outstanding day in the 50F's.  Sun, sun and more sunshine!!!

My lower back continues to heal, still stiff and sore, but now able to resume 100% of my housework, chores, and bending.  I'm still laying low from my workouts, I'll continue to rest through the weekend and maybe give it a go starting next week.

Bob headed out to the Shop to open at 8a.  I dropped Tanis off for his last day of SEA WEEK at the School at 8:45 a.m. and then came home to begin catching up on cleaning the house and getting Eden bathed and dressed for her Head Start graduation at 12:30 p.m.

Eden was so cute, from the moment her eyes popped open this morning, it was all about wearing her "special" dress.  So after her bath she was happy to be in her stockings, pink/black dress, and yes chamo colored tennis shoes :)  We were off in time to stop at the Hardware Store to show off her "graduation outfit" (and shoes) and yes, she had her purple headband in too.

The photo's are on Bob's camera and at the Shop, while I'm writing from home closing out the day so I'll work on blogging those tomorrow.

The remainder of the day was spent at the Shop.  Poor Bob has the kind of cold that sinks you, so he's smiling for customers but zero energy every where else.  I've tried to get him to go home and I'll run the shop, alas, he just "has" to be there :)  He's doing an amazing job working 8a-8p without breaks.

We had a large order of flies (for Fly Fishing) come in, so that was my job for the afternoon .. putting them all away in their little slots.  I was thrilled to do it because I'm not very familiar with the different names/kinds that are available and "talked about" so having the check the order form, find the little boxes (with a dozen in them) and then get them to the correct slot in the Fly Tying draw is really helping me.  I'm come to chuckle at some of the names "dirty socks", "egg sucking leeches", "dumbell bunny leech", "pink pollywogs", etc, etc, etc... and the names just go one and on.  And of course the oh so familiar color of "chartruse".  Ladies, you can't believe what these men tolerate in a name.... come and see our selection!  I'll finish it up tomorrow morning since I was only half way through when our time ran out.

We headed for home just before 8 p.m. and I made a quick batch of Mac-n-Cheese for the kids.

OH, and for you Aussies out there .... I made my first batch of "Sausage Rolls" using Aunty Ann's recipe she emailed me.  How can it be that I've been away from OZ since 1981 and haven't made Sausage Rolls.  My kids have been missing out!  I made them for the potluck after the kids graduation and it was obvious these kids haven't been introduced to them yet!  And selfishly I was hoping to take some home :)  Yum, Yum!

Well, that's it for tonight.  I can hear the gulls on the Bay enjoying what the cannery has been grinding up and spitting back into the Bay.  I'm upstairs in bed typing this.

Oh, and we have a mother bear and three cubs at the dump at present, so the bears are coming out of their partial hybernation.  The word on the river too from the Steelhead Fishermen is that the bugs are coming out too.  Ah, Spring has sprung!
