Just relax
Well Its the second day of our vacation here in FL and so far not to bad. We were pounded by some storms last night but all is calm today. However we are leaving for destin tomorrow right were the storms are going. DH says they will clear out soon., though.
There was a reception in honor of dh(who recently returned from iraq) this am. The news paper was there and every thing. He also made a presentation to Mr. George Albright, tax collecter today. I'll have to post the story on a later blog. I plan on doing and entry in honor of dh soon.

School days
I wanted to share this picture of my youngest making mud soup. She started out gathering up tadpoles from our pond and she was watching an learning about them. She has been studying them on her own the past couple of days really without any help from me. This really is the best kind of learning to me. I really am thankful to be homeschooling.

Just Embrace It
I am finally embracing the fact that my oldest daughter is ready to do... gulp.... 7th grade work. It is bitter sweet that my first baby is now growing into a bright young lady.
As I look back it occured to me that our time really is short with them and I should enjoy every minute with them and pray fervantly for them.

Rainy Day
Its a rainy day here :o( Rob left this morning at 1 am. We are all a little down today. I know I should sit down and decide on history. I just can't make up my mind. I love living books--I also need a spine-- I just can't figure out how to put the two together. Nor can I decide if I should start over, or pickup where I left off. See... my brain is hurting trying to think it through. Any suggestions is certainly welcome. Have a good day all...I hope the sun is shining where you are :o).

Today finds us in between the Hafields and the McCoys. There is a dispute over the property out here so I don't know whats going to happen. The Lord knows though.
Brittany has and ear infection--she's never had one before.
Rob is leaving for Louisianna tomorrow. He will be gone the whole month of January. Which will be great practice because he leaves in Feb. for Iraq. I am looking into activities that will keep us busy while he is away.
I went to a horse farm yesterday. My Brittany just adores horses. Actually all of my angels do. We are interested in learning all we can about them. I am considering riding lessons for them.
No great words of inspiration today--but praise the Lord for Ordinairy, every day life!!!

Its been a long time
A very good friend convinced me that I don't need pictures in order to blog so here goes. I'm so happy to begin a new year. I am reminded in Lamentations that everymorning God's mercies are new. That makes me so thankful. My husband will be leaving for Iraq in Feb. So I'm a little scared. But the God-given task of homeschooling my angels will indeed help keep me busy. Which reminds me-- hopefully I will get settled on history this very month. I just can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I also can't decide if I should pick up where we left off or start all over again with the ancients. I'm so confused... Oh well
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and new year. I can't wait to see what God has planned for us this year!

The Big Move
Well, my husband has orders and we're finally moving!!
Here a picture of the farmhouse we will be moving into.
It's one step closer to my dream of having a farm.

The house is right in the middle of other farms and I'm SO happy!

More nature study
I must say we have enjoyed our nature study. I want to share the cardinals we have out side my bedroom window. My girls have watched them build their nests from the beginning; then they weathered a storm we had; now mommy cardinal is patiently sitting on her eggs. It is so sweet. If you look closely you can see them in the pictures below.

Nature study
It has been a while since my last entry. It has been busy around here.
We recently began a nature study that has been most enjoyable. My girls take their field guides every where and they love it when they spot something they have read about.
along with nature study we have been keeping nature journals. I'd like to share this entry by my daughter katelyn(8). It is a red-headed woodpecker we have in our yard.

Proverb for the week
My girls and I love to read a proverb each day and then illustrate them. I thought I would begin posting our favorite of the week each Friday. Illustrating the proverbs we learn really make them come alive for us.
proverbs 3:30 Strive not with a man with out a cause if he have done you no harm.

Just a walk in...or to the park
Yesterday was a beauiful day so we, with homeschool friends, to a walk to a nearby park. There really wasn't much to see on the way there but the park was beautiful. The girls did do some sketches of a plant we saw. Brittany traced a leaf.
Today we went to the library. It is another gorgeous day today. I hate staying inside on days like this. I need to find ways to do school outside.

new life
Well, we woke up this morning to find a butterfly in our jar where a caterpillar used to be. The girls were so exited(me too!) In our exitement we forgot to take a picture before letting it go, but I did go ahead and take a picture of the crysalis. We will definately enter this in our science notebooks. You can't have a better science curriculum than that.
Just let say that I am so glad that my kitchen floor is finished!!!!!!!! My house is finally looking normal again and we can get back to something that resembles a schedule.

Beach Babies
I back again(finally) Going to the beach Friday was so relaxing. How could you not call that science. By the way, Stephani was right about that paticular sea urchin not hurting if you lightly touch it. Her Daddy and she had a long lovely conversation about it that night.
Cake decorating was very fun. I really like doing that and may get further into it. we'll see.
also looks like we will be headed out of this state and onto another. It really is amazing to see the LORD working in our lives, though.
