Do you have some white laundry items that have been stained with
rust? Try this tip ( I've personally used it and it works).
Soak the stain with lemon or lime juice, then cover it, while wet with salt.
Then hang it on the outside clothesline to dry in the sun.
A chemical reaction happens with the sun's rays, the lemon juice and the
salt and it literally takes the rust stains off.
Nothing else I have tried has worked. I hope this helps someone. Let me
know...

TODAY'S FAQ
*************************************************************
We thank our readers for their questions. Here's one:
How can we get rid of spiders in the house?
Well, there are a lot of commercially available bug sprays, but
to get rid of them naturally, I would suggest being aggressive with
their cobwebs. Remove cobwebs weekly, even daily in trouble
spots, eventually, the spiders get the message your house is trouble
and leave. I usually call my husband to kill the bigger ones (yuk!)
Also, sometimes in colder weather you should check key spots
like between window panes, they often have spider cocoons which
contains eggs.
Sorry Charlotte!!!

TURKEY SAFETY
Thanksgiving would not be the same without turkeys, yet very few people take the time
to learn how to handle them properly. Any poultry needs special attention when handling.
Thawing a frozen turkey the proper way is important to the safety of your family.
Never thaw a turkey at room temperature because this promotes the growth of dangerous
bacteria. The safest way to thaw a turkey is to thaw it in the refrigerator. You should do this
with the turkey still in its own unopened wrapper breast facing up and placed on a tray.
The accepted rule of thumb for time is:
1 day refrigerator thawing for every four pounds of turkey.
Here is a site we highly recommend for all your turkey information:

What's for dinner????

Those dreaded words... what's for dinner mom? How come they always have to eat anyway? It seems to me at times that my life consists in cooking, preparing to cook or serving meals. How to get rid of mold and mildew
|
When it comes to mold and mildew stains that are really tough, nothing beats liquid bleach. I keep an empty spray bottle filled with about 1 cup water to Ό cup bleach. I use this to spray on those tough jobs. Always store away from children and use caution when handling like any bleach product, this is very strong. Make sure that you are spraying on surfaces that will not discolor such as tiles, etc or white surfaces like white walls. I tried this on a purple wall once and ended up with speckles! Chlorine bleach doesnt mask mold and mildew it actually kills it! Angie J.Rose Christian Homemaking |
