Question #8
Does your homeschool have a name -- like Lambs Academy or anything? If so, please tell us the name and how your family came up with the name. (Just click on Post a Comment). I never really think about this unless I am filling out a form that wants a school name on it.
My Answer
We have never named our homeschool. I usually just put our last name and then Homeschool on any form asking a school name. Here lately I have been thinking maybe it would be fun to actually have a name for our homeschool.

We are the School of Chadwell. Yeah, it's our last name, but I like it. I know it's not much thought.

Yes, we named our school so we could have something to put down on various forms or such. We need a name for our Six Flags readings, Pizza Hut readings, Border's card, and the list goes on and on. We used the city name and Christian Academy. That way, in our very unfriendly homeschool area, we don't have anyone prying into our business. The bible says to wise as a serpant and gentle as a dove. That is what I based my conviction from. The public schools around us are very unfriendly towards homeschoolers. It has worked well for us. I figure that the people in the city will see our walk more than our school name. Anyway, that's our story. God bless you. I had fun reading this blog.

The name of our school is Pyle Prairie Christian Academy --- That is not our last name or anything...
but we live near a country cemetary with that name, it is 'historically marked' for the family of John Pyle a Spanish American war veteran that founded this rural region where we live. Our barn was built by his family and is over 100 years old, and we live in a home built in 1956 by some of his decendents and moved from another location in 1959 to this spot which is actually part of the original land he received after the war. We thought it fitting... and named it that about 10 years ago when we moved here. Before that we didn't have an official name, just our last name and homeschool. But this is official now that it is on my oldest dd diploma!
