The Spanish Colors Song

Posted in Spanish

This is sung to "Are you sleeping?"

Red is rojo, red is rojo,

blue azul, blue azul,

yellow is amarillo, yellow is amarillo,

I know the colors, it's true!

Purple is morado, purple is morado,

brown is cafe, brown is cafe,

gray is gris, gray is gris,

I know know my colors, do you?

Spanish Sites for Elementary School

Posted in Spanish

First, go to this site for lots of Spanish helps:
http://www.spanishspanish.com/

Try printing some flashcards from this site:

Here's a Spanish-English Picture Dictionary

Make Your Own Spanish Flashcards Here (click on Flashcards and then, "Make Your Own."
www.abcteach.com

Then play some games! If you print two copies of your cards (months, mammals, or whatever) you can play memory. Just try to match two words. If you make a match, say the word aloud in Spanish.Or print two copies of the cards and play "Go Fish." Do you have "un perro (the dog)?"Or just do flashcards. Spread the cards on the table and ask, "Where is un gato (the cat)?"We have recently purchased a Spanish dictionary for my daughter who takes a high school Spanish class. My elementary age son loves to be allowed the dictionary and look up "the word of the day." He picks out a word from the dictionary and then we pronounce it, copy it and its meaning, and then illustrate it. This makes a cool "Spanish workbook."

Here are lots of Spanish quizzes:
