I began this blog to create an on going yearbook of our homeschool chronicling our highs & lows with photo's and journaling. Through the past few months I have really enjoyed getting to know so many homeschool moms and their families. Being a Homeschoolblogger has been both fun and encouraging. Please make yourself comfortable and enjoy getting to know us and how we learn at home!

Two Birthdays....
Tuesday, February 19, 2008
The years are passing faster than I can stand and despite all my efforts to try to "cancel" these birthdays and keep my young'uns YOUNG they are happening anyway!
Our "Baby" turns THREE! All Boy but such JOY!
and our eldest - Kayla - turns (be still my heart) 15!! I'm so happy to have her as my daughter! :D
She and her friend planned a joint B-day Bash for this coming weekend. The sleepover consisting of 11 teenage girls is being held at the friends house, phew! ( I'm gonna owe that momma one!) All I have to do is supply the cake and breakfast - although I'm a little sad I'll miss out on the fun so I'll be 'crashing' the party at some point to get some pictures!!
We are taking a break from school both Tuesday and Friday to celebrate the big days. I leave you now with a little video the two of them collaborated on...
A few pictures of the past 2 weeks ...( I'll catch up on my blogging someday!!!) I have thoroughly enjoyed this much needed break from school!
My Birthday....
The 2 littlest boys in the church Christmas Play:
I don't know about you but I'm so busy having fun on Christmas that I don't get as many pictures as I'd like...
Funny story behind Jordan and his helicopter... The day after Christmas he went outside to fly it and it actually flew away! We think it just went too high and got out of range of the controller and off it went... Poor Jordan, he thought it was kind of funny but he also misses his toy! We rode around the block to see if we could possibly spot it but no luck.
On the 27th we hosted the dessert portion of the annual Progressive Dinner for our church's youth. It's something my kids look forward too each year. We did a chocolate fountain....
We got lots of pictures of the kids (50 of them!) but, as usual, I don't want to put thier photos up on the world wide web -- anyway, here is my Jesse after he had a few dips in the fountain...
This weekend was our annual Gingerbread House Making Fellowship at our church. Some of us ladies make the gingerbread and icing from scratch and then everyone gathers later in the evening to assemble their houses. You can read more about this favorite family tradition in my post from last year.
I have a short slideshow for you of two of my boys making their houses along with some of the other houses that were built. It's a great time of fellowship while making fun family memories! :D
Hope you all are enjoying this wonderful season celebrating the birth of our Savior and preparing for Christmas.
Sorry I haven't been very active in blogland lately - I'm not snubbing you all, it just the busyness of this time of year! I'll be posting and catching up on your blogs when I can.
Tomorrow is an all-day gingerbread house making marathon! Hope to have some pic's to share with you. Saturday will be some more shopping and wrapping and (hopefully) resting too. Sunday is supposed to be our day of rest and I'm really looking forward to worshiping in God's house with my fellow saints. The SS children have a Christmas party planned during their SS hour. Lord willing, I will be playing in our Ladies Chime Choir during the Sunday morning service. Last week, I served in nursery but this week it is my plan to sit with my family and worship together! Immediately following the service our Kayla will be going to minister with the Sr. Youth group at a local nursing home and then there is Christmas play practice for the children at 3:30pm. It could be tricky getting Joshua to wear that sheep costume :D He's quite the wandering little lamb, lol!
Sunday evening we will be at church for our evening service and youth activities, more chime choir practice and then get home around 8:30PM and send everyone off to bed. It won't be very restful, I'm afraid.
Monday is my birthday! 38th to be exact and husband is taking a half day at work so we can be together all afternoon and dinner out. Mom has agreed to take the kiddo's at her house. They love it and I'm looking forward to having hubby all to myself for awhile.
OK. I didn't intend to write out my weekend plans when I started this post, but there you go. I truly hope your are feeling as blessed as I am during this Holiday season. God is so good.
