Thankful Thursday
Another idea from Little Eblings Academy ...... She thinks since I'm a grumpy bug today that maybe writing some of the things I'm thankful for will help perk me up a bit.....so, here it goes!!
I am thankful for a toilet that flushes. (At least when I use it)
I am thankful for my healthy and energetic children.
I am thankful for macaroni & cheese and hot dogs. (It makes an easy and non confrontational lunch menu)
I am thankful for my friend Beckie. Having a best friend in another state can be hard sometimes.....but for her, it's worth it!!!!
And you know what? I AM cheered up and now I'm going to go cook a quick lunch and flush a toilet!!!!
Have a great and thankful Thursday!!!

Extended Vacation
I turned our 4 day T-day into 6. It's easy to do, really. I find that I'm a little too relaxed sometimes. Does anyone else struggle with this? I'm praying I'm not ruining my kids by not being stringent enough. And truth be told.....my house is suffering. It's quite messy most of the time. Does anyone else have this problem?

15 Reasons....
I came across a blog today and decided to copy the idea.
You can find the blog HERE
15 reasons why I love my husband
1. He is faithful. He hesitates to even agree with me when I say someone is pretty.
2. He works hard. Sometimes 6 days a week.
3. He never puts anything before his family. We always come first with his time.
4. He always tells me I'm beautiful....even when it's pretty clear I am not.
5. He loves all of our kids the same (even though two of them are not biologically his)
6. He's a musician. I love to hear him play the guitar and drums. He's incredibly talented.
7. He loves Jesus.
8. He loves to buy me things.
9. He loves animals.
10. He's goofy.
11. He's a good father. He plays and he disciplines. He's fair and he always explains to the kids why they are in trouble.
12. He's smart. He swears he's not, but he is.
13. He wants to be with me. He likes quality time. Even if it's just sitting together watching tv.
14. He loves my cooking. And cooks breakfast usually once a week....which is always nummy!
15. He's my husband!!!! lHow could I not love someone who puts up with me??

My Savior My God
http://www.aaronshust.com/index.html
My new favorite song. I could listen to it over and over. My husband bought the CD and was learning the guitar chords last night and we heard it at least 20 times in a row.....and I could have done it 20 more......you know I like a song when I can do that!!!
We sang this in church last Sunday over and over and never even got to the preaching. The service was AMAZING and peoples lives were changed that day.
Worship is so important and sometimes lost between arguments of propriety and affected by time constraints.
I say it's ok to take a day and just worship our God. Don't you?? So sing a song of worship today!!!! (And everyday!!) It doesn't matter if it sounds good to YOU.....because it will sound beautiful to HIM!!! Just think of how much you love to hear your baby sing you a song that says they love you. Our heavenly father loves to hear those songs too!!!!
Have a WONDERFUL and SPIRIT-FILLED weekend!!!!!

What a great weekend!
My church service yesterday was AMAZING!! I'm hoping to carry it through the week! It made it a wonderful weekend for me!
As a side note.....is it normal to feel that you are failing as a teacher? That maybe they aren't learning what they should be? That they aren't going as fast as they should? That you don't spends enough time during a day teaching? Also, my oldest seems to get the least of my time.....he just does his work. So, I wonder.....is he really 'getting' it? or is it just a read and answer time for him? I'm sure these thoughts have happened to many moms......but it would be nice to hear how some of you wonderful teachers have dealt with these thoughts.....
Have a wonderful day today and I pray God blesses you mightily today!!!

Another Monday!
I'm finding I look forward to Mondays as much as Fridays now. I really enjoy teaching the kids.
And to top it off.....my husband offered to teach some things to the little ones when he got home from work!
Well.....my oldest daughter turned 14 a couple of weeks ago.....and I'm still asking her to pray about being homeschooled next year. I'm torn between letting her make the decision and making it for her. I'd appreciate advice and prayer on the subject.
God bless you today!!!

Well......
If I did bite off more than I can chew......I'm too busy to take the time to realize it.....LOL
It's crazy here.....But, I am finding that I LOVE it. And I'm also finding I'm missing my oldest daughter very much. I know that it is Gods will to homeschool her and am just waiting on Him to work in her too. (I know, I know....I'm the adult and she's the child....but it's deeper than that.......I'm wanting God to work on her first)
Anyways, I want to thank everyone who commented and offered support.....it is such a nice feeling to know I'm not alone in the homeschooling world.....
God bless you all today!!!

This Summer Went SO Fast!
This summer seemed to fly by for me. It seems like just a week or so ago, I was getting ready to plant some vegetables and celebrating Memorial Day. All of the sudden Labor Day is around the corner and so is our school year!!!
Does it ever seem that way to you? That time flies by faster than you realized? Not just a day.....but a whole SEASON??

Organize me!
I'm really struggling with organizing myself for the upcoming year. I'm really searching for the best way to plan out my year.
I'm homeschooling in a state with very few rules.....and while that is good in most aspects.....it's making it hard for me to be diligent in planning.
I would really appreciate some ideas on how to plan out my year and lessons.
Thanks!!!

Bump on the Curriculum Road
Well.....we have found we are unable to buy the history curriculum we wanted to buy.
Does anyone have any suggestions on a good 7th grade history curriculum other than BJU?
Have a wonderful Wednesday!!!

I Find it Funny.....
That when you tell people who are not homeschooling, nor plan on doing so....That you are homeschooling....You get 2 different reactions, really.....
You have the classic 'You are WHAT?' 'Your kids have no chance in real life if you do that' 'What about socializing' 'You're making a mistake'
Then you have reaction 2 'Good for you' or 'Wow' or a non-abrasive 'Really?' Always followed by a long list of why homeschooling is not for them.......even if you didn't ask. Things like 'I could never do that, I don't have the patience' or 'I love my quiet time when the kids go to school'.....etc/
The second one always leads me to believe they've been convicted and are simply not receptive.

Have a beautiful and blessed Monday!

Wowsers.
I finally have the 'find the right curriculum' thing figured out....(which is simply that you never have it figured out...lol)
Now I'm realizing I need at least an outline of my plan....yearly, weekly, daily....?? I'm a little stressed about it. And not to sound way crazy.....but I was so busy deciding to homeschool an finding the curriculum....that I never stopped to think of planning anything!
So.....does anyone have any brilliant ideas or advice???
