Today we went to a botanical garden about 40 minutes away.  We had never been there before and I had found out about it on the internet.  Best of all it was free!  It was a perfect day and the weather was beautiful.  Here are some pictures of what we saw.

Here's a canadian goose that we saw.  As you can see it was tagged which the kids thought was weird and gave me an opportunity to talk to them about why.

Here's an unusual flower we saw.  We haven't identified it yet but we thought it was pretty in a weird sort of way.

I don't know if you can make out this bug amongst all the wood chips but it had the coolest wings.  Pumpkin tried really hard to get a good photo of it.  That bug sat there for a long time while he tried to photograph it.  It seemed like it was almost posing for him.

We thought it was really cool how they got those trees to grow around those post.
