Well this has been a busy week around here. I have made a few changes to our schedule in order to destress it a little. Peewee has dropped boy scouts. I just decided that 4 activities a week was to much and he had to pick one to drop. I'll admit I was kind of hoping it would be Boy Scouts. I also decided that teaching "C" plus mine was getting to be too much, so I told his mom she would have to find other arrangements for him. I did tell her I would give her till Oct. 30th. I feel bad about it but I've got to put my kids first. I feel I was spreading myself too thin and not giving them the attention they need. Not only that there has been a lot of squabbling between him and my oldest son. All in all I think it's for the best.
Now on to what we did in school this week. On Monday we took the day off from school so we only had ball games and practices. This is Peanut's first year playing soccer. It's hilarious watching 4yr. olds playing soccer. I didn't get any pictures because it was just a huge pool of kids following a ball around. LOL
Tuesday we had art class and then went on our nature walk. We saw this really cool tree called the Paperbark Maple. It had such a rich color and the bark felt just like paper. Here's a pick of the trunk.

Of course we all had to touch it and found out that the bark will turn your hands brown.

We also so this guy.

And here's the kids checking it out.

Overnight the temp. dropped as you can see in this picture of Peewee working on his math.

Thursday they worked on some science experiments. They were getting quite a kick out of this one.

Today we worked on some grammar lessons together and this is what I got to look at the whole time.

Have I mentioned we have a relaxed dress code around here. LOL It was busy but we still managed to get some learning and fun in.
Hope you all had a great week!

Oct. 13, 2007 - No dress code!
Also- great job getting things "ironed out" in your schedule. We try to be helpful to others but we must remember that it can't be at the expense of our own children- after all the Lord gave these children to us to do our best with! It's finding that balance. Sometimes we run too much, too. THere is just too much good stuff out there to do!
