Last night during one of my sleepless spells, I came across this really  good site.  It has links to TONS of book units.  Not every single linked worked but the vast majority did.  The books are listed alphabetically.

Western and cowboy poetry

The Cranky Librarian has 2581 books that you can read online.  The chapters appear on the left side of the page and you just click on those.

http://crankylibrarian.com/

I just kind of happened upon this site tonight.  Wow! Is the only word I can use to describe it.  It has 80,000 free e-books listed.  There are a total of 120,000 but some cost a little.

http://www.digitalbookindex.org/about.htm

This site offers short fiction, poetry, novels, and magazines

http://eserver.org/fiction/

Here you’ll find a variety of books.  They have age ratings and some come with worksheets and lessons.

Here you’ll find Holiness e-books, Christian e-books, Methodist, History and Reference, and Papers.  There is a dark black line that runs down the middle of the page but I think they are trying to give the illusion of an open book.  A little annoying though.

Here is a site

Posted in Reading

©2008 JoAnn

I use it  for reading comprehension with my children.  It's free to use.  They have a huge list of books to chose from (you'll have to get them from your local library) and then when your child is done reading it there is a test to take.  I find it useful, that's one less thing I have to do.
