Fish Tales... Fish Tails?

Posted in Fishing
Tyler and Daddy headed out Carp fishing again last night. Tyler's first catch was pretty normal...

The fight:

The fish:

But his second catch came in ... a little short on one end.

Strange, huh? I am guessing it got attacked by another fish. Tyler thinks a Snapping Turtle got him. Daddy thought it may have even been born this way since its scales seem to be perfect around the end and it seemed healthy. Who knows, but it sure was an interesting catch! It swam, or rather waddled, right away when they released it.

That is amazing that the fish has part of it gone. I have never seen anything like that. Very interesting!

I love to fish, though I can' t say I love Carp. I'm more of a Crappie girl! :)

That brings back memories...my dad and I used to go carp fishing in a lake down from our farm. I agree, my guess is that carp was probably born that way.

I have a secret....per your comment...I don't live in the country! I actually, live in a subdivision. But our lot backs up to a sizeable wooded area and we have lots of empty lots around us waiting to be built on (slow market). But, it's the closest I'll get to the country, with my city-boy hubby! I love it and we are very blessed to be able to see such nature in the suburbs.

Blessings, Melissa

What an odd fish - I bet Tyler was excited to see something so strange. It's hard to believe it can survive without a tail-fin?

Those fish are huge! Is that unusual? I've never fished for carp. Last year, we only caught small sunnies. My boys would be thrilled to see such a large fish on the end of their line!

PS - Have fun with the sleepover this weekend! I bet the kids would have a blast at the Wildflower Garden! And, with your photography skills, you could get some amazing photos!

Enjoy your weekend!
