Lin Reft (Part 2)

Yaaay! My first drawing with the markers I got from the book fair! (To be honest: my first sucessful drawing. I've failed two drawings before this one. They're now enjoying their new life in the trash can.)  Now Lin Reft has a very, no, I'm mean a VERY loooooooooooooooong story. If you really must know something about her, please contact me. But for now I'm going to stick to some of the basics.
Name: (Uh...) Lin Reft...
Age: In this picture she's almost sixteen
Hair Color: Jade Green
Eye Color: Aqua Green - It looks like green-blue (You'll probably notice I didn't color in her eye... Well, I don't have the right color.)
A little bit of extra info...
One thing you most likely cannot see, is the fact that Lin has a robotic arm- and robotic legs from the knees down. (Which she would say is good, because she goes through many pains to hide the fact that she's errr, part cyborg? She'd hit me if she heard me put it that way.)  Yeeeeaaaah, that goes into her story, soooo onward and upward! Hmmm, she's very withdrawn, and often tries to seem like an insensitive person. However, she is actually a very sweet person, she just doesn't like to act like it. Later on she gets better at.... uh, that's going into her story again. Anyway, it's hard to understand everything about her without knowing her story. Still, I cannot go into her story, because it takes hours (literally, I'm not kidding!! ) to explain. And that's when I'm talking at top speed, leaving out little details, and barely skimming the surface of her story. (How do I know? I tried to explain it to one of my friends at her sleepover, and we dropped dead around 3:00 AM before I could get as far as I wanted to.) Can you tell I worked hard on this?  Just kidding. I have though!!  Yes, Lin is purely from my imagination. And she has four other buddies who's stories take just as long as hers. They're all from my imagination as well. Uh-huh. Yup. I've been working on them since sometime soon after I started drawing. (I was around age seven) I'm sorry! This is probably taking too long!! Well, maybe I'll explain more later... Maybe.

Uh... Poem?

This poem doesn't actually have a name, but I did make it myself! Yeah, it  may not be too clear, but is poetry supposed to be clear?!  Usually I'm really touchy and think that everything should rhyme, but I gave myself (Or should I say forced myself) a little bit of slack room. As you can see, the first two lines don't rhyme.

Well anyway, please enjoy!

As I lifted my head towards the sunlit sky,

A spray from shadowy clouds began to fall

The taste of icy water upon my tongue,

Brought fresh relief from the broiling sun

My feet were tender from days of walk,

My throat so dry I could not talk

My lips were parched from loss of water’s sweet touch

If I had anything, it wasn’t much

A dark shadow emerged on the ground,

Yet here out in the open I felt safe and sound

His love was soon to come thundering down

And peace would fill my heart...

Finally!! (Part 2)

Yes!!! My dad has finally shown me how to put my pictures on the blog! This particular picture is well... they're pirates. The guy in front:  His name is Raymond Waterforest (Yes, that's his last name). He's the captain.
(Yes, he's a guy. Everyone in my family tells me I draw really girlish guys. They're so mean!!!)
The girl's name is: Tarinya Gladyace (This one's hard to pronounce: Tar-rin-nee-a... Glad-ee-ace)
Weird, I know. I made her name up. Oh yeah, her nickname is Tari (Tar-ee).  And she jumps in a puddle of tar she's Tar-... Yeah, bad pun on her nickname.   She does get herself into a lot of trouble though.  Anyhow, if you want to know more about them, just ask me. I'm going to spend a few more posts on them. (Maybe- don't take my word for it.)
Please, if you are reading this, please, please comment! Pleeeeeaaaaasse comment. With a cherry on top! Or whatever your favorite fruit is, on top. If you don't like fruit, then whatever vegetable! If you don't like vegetables, then- oh never mind. JUST COMMENT! Please?

P.S. These are made by me. They are not from somewhere else. Please don't steal ideas!

Ahem. I only got one book. But I got some markers.... My little Sis got... some weird rocks and a cool light thingamajig. My big Sis got three Narnia books, and... my little brother got a wooden sword and shield. (Yes, I've been stabbed several times, now.)  Oh, my big  brother? He didn't get anything. Happy Birthday, little brother!

Yay, today's Joshua's birthday! Josh is my little brother. Now he goes around telling everyone "I'm six now!"
"Yes," I think.  "That's my little brother." Well, I gotta go celebrate!

Happy birthday to you...

I dedicate this entry to my lovely mother, whose birthday is today....
Happy Birthday mom!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( green is her favorite color!)
Just a few things I love about my mom:

  • Her humility...
Although she may not agree, I think my mom is very humble. She is often a wonderful example to me. I see my mother trying to pursue humility, not only for herself, but with us. Even in my fights with her, (and we do fight) my mother is often able to melt my pride by apologizing first.
  • Her patience...
My mom is very patient. Having 5 children to teach, care for, counsel, feed,  and love, is probably a tiring  experience. I've asked my mom once how she puts up with us sometimes, and she told me, "Every time  I had a child, God put a little more room my heart."
  • Her serving attitude...
Many times I would ask my mother why she did many unnoticed, yucky jobs.
She asked, "Who else would?"
"Well, I suppose you have a point," I said, "But you know that they'll probably go unnoticed, and pretty soon get dirty again, and-"  I took a breath, "you most likely won't get thanked."
Mom responded, "If  I only did the jobs I wanted,  the house would be a mess. What if I decided  I didn't  want to buy groceries, and instead, decided I'd take myself to breakfast, lunch and dinner, leaving you children at home?" "Uh... we'd probably get hungry." I concluded.
So , once again, I  applaud my mother for doing things, even if they go unnoticed.
I love you mom!

Also, today is my dog's birthday, so...
Happy birthday Maddie!!!!!!

The chicken pox...

Sigh... I have to stay home from church... Okay, I told you that there are 7 people in my family, (including parents) right? Well, only 3 have already had the chicken pox, 2 have had the vaccine, and 2 haven't had anything. (I think.)  Since I haven't had the chicken pox, (although I've had the shot) my parents say I have to stay home. Oh, I know what you're thinking, "Even though you've had the shot?" Yeah.... My sister, Sarah, was the first to come down with it............. She had already gotten the vaccine! So, yeah that's the story. I'm okay staying home too, I'd just like to be at church. Well God is good, He knows what He's doing. I just have to step out of the way and let Him do it.

- DO HARD THINGS -

The title for this entry may sound a bit weird... unless you know what The Rebelution is. On April 5, I went to an inspiring conference. Two twin brothers, Alex and Bret Harris,  challenged us to DOHARDTHINGS! The Rebelution is a teenage rebellion against low expectations. There is so much to say, I don't know how to put it all into words! This is life changing. But you don't have to take my word for it, see for yourself!

Bleh...

Ugh, the all invincible me- is sick.  First of all, I've busted  an eardrum.  I know that sounds painful, but it felt pretty good at the time because I had a bunch of pressure pushing against my eardrum. Then it popped, and I felt much better, except my mom told me what had happened, and I started to get worried. But she told me it would repair itself, so it's not that bad. Right now my family is trying to speak loudly when they talk to me (which is no problem for my little brother), 'cause I'm practically half-deaf. For me, my busted eardrum makes everything muffled on that side, and my other ear is really blocked, so everything's muffled on that side as well. *Siiigh* I've also got pneumonia. Even though I don't think any of them read this blog, I wanna thank my wonderful family for putting up with me. bleeeh.... I think I'll go make myself some tea.

                                                                       Still fighting,

Exclamation points....!

I've noticed that I use exclamation points a lot. I wonder if it's because I get hyped up easily... or maybe........
.........-consideration-..........Okay, look here, I'll tell you the truth. When I type, I type almost exactly what I'm thinking... seriously!  I type what comes to mind!  'Cause you know  I do "..."  a whole lot?  I am thinking that way! I can't believe I didn't notice this before! (Yes, I'm just noticing this.) I wonder if I'm just naturally loud? Why didn't anyone tell me?!

                                                          -R.J.
P.S. I not actually that worked up about exclamation points... I know I said I type what I think! It's just...! You know...! I...! Gaah! I told I might sound weird! You were warned!!!! Just kidding!

It's so mind boggling...

I like to listen to Japanese pop. I don't know if anybody knew that... but I do.  Okay I don't like to, I LOVE to.  Big problem... people don't sell  Japanese  albums  in America. So I have to order it of the internet right? So far I haven't found it anywhere but amazonjp.co. Aaand the site is in... guess what? JAPANESE! I can barely understand a single word! Also, there's this button that says, "Would you like to see this in english?" So I click it and only a little of the page is in english. -Siiiigh- Suddenly, -big accomplishment- I find what I'm looking for. Yaaaay!  Now to add it to my wish list, so I don't lose it! Click! WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!!!
it says I'm not logged in! (Or at least I think it does, the whole page is in Japanese!) Okay, don't panic, just log on and find it... Guess what, on amazonjp, they think I'm not a member! Well I think I'll be stuck with listening to Japanese pop on the internet my whole life. .................... If any one can find Japanese pop anywhere else, please tell me!
I wonder if they sell it on ebay...? Well, bye for now!

        Signing off,

                     R.J.

On the first day of Christmas...

Yay! Five more days until Christmas! I love Christmas because...
  • We sing carols...
  • Drink warm drinks...
  • Get Christmas letters...
  • Give presents...
  • ... and get them!
  • Find many reasons to be happy...
  • Get an extra blanket for our beds!..
  • Get to wear slippers...
  • Experience suspense... (because of presents!)
And last but  certainly not least... we are reminded that  one truly amazing God came down to earth in the form of a helpless, little baby... just to die for us. That, my friend, is the BEST part of Christmas.

Long, long,long time no see!

Right now I'm just at a loss for words! Well words that won't bore you to death, that is. Wait! I know one thing! We have a pet cat now!!! She's so cuutte!! Her name is Florence, and she's a stray kitty. We found her one morning just mewing at our apartment door! Heh heh, it's kinda funny to think that that poor starving cat is now a well fed, pot-bellied kitten! *Grin*
I think we spoil her. Our poor dog, Maddie! I keep feeling like everyone is neglecting her! Not me of course, I take care of her. Ha ha! Actually, they don't neglect her, it's just they don't pay as much attention to her. I think she's also relieved, though, because Josh used to annoy her. Now he bothers the kitty. Well I have to go now...

           See ya,
                       RJ

Thoughts...

Hey I'm back! I don't know if you've seen Over The Hedge, but I had a weird thought yesterday...I kind of thought about calling myself R.J...Cuz' you know my first name is Rebekah, and my middle name is Joy. But then I thought about the raccoon R.J (my favorite character), and thought: You know, I kinda'  like that...but my brothers and sisters would never call me R.J, and neither would my parents...my friends would never get used to it, and I'd be about the only one calling me R.J!! Well...........if you wanna' call me R.J, I don't mind. Plus, I'd love comments! If there's anything to comment on, that is.  Well until next time!

                                                                                                                               -Beky

P.S.
I can't believe I spent all that time on R.J!!!!
