Cinco de Mayo

Well I am just finishing our lesson for Cinco de Mayo.    I have fun coloring sheets and we'll  make sombrero cookies in the morning and then we will have fajitas and tortillas and salsa and guacamole.  Yum, yum.   I have printed out some facts and will tell the kids about Cinco de mayo as we prepare all our fun food.

This week went well.   The other day my youngest ( three)  was playing outside and came to the back door very excited.  He had found a ladybug.  He was holding it between his 2 fingers and he wanted to put it in his bug jar.  He has enjoyed watching it crawl around.  He wants to keep it forever!!!!!!!

Well that is all for this evening.  Hope you all have a great weekend.

Hi Allison! Oh how fun...did Zach name the little lady? Is she still alive?!? Hannah gets them in her bedroom every spring - I think there's a nest not too far from her air conditioner, so they pop in through the vents. She's not crazy about them being in her room, but we try to catch them and then let them back outside.

Hey, if you like learning about various holidays etc. there's a great site called Learning Calendar (http://www.learningcalendar.com/). The calendars are awesome for finding little tidbits of information to teach the kids with...just for fun!

Hope you have a great day!!!
Hugs,
~Kim~

That sounded like fun! I always want to do something fun like that, but I am currently lacking the organizational skills to pull it off. I tend to think of it the day of.....

I am also curious to hear how you made sombrero cookies!
