Our Daily Adventures at Rocky Mountain Academy

Beautiful days and great schoolwork

Summer has arrived here in CO.  (I know summer isn't officially get here until the end of June but we are loving this wonderful weather).  There has been lots of playing outside and I even got to rides bikes with my oldest this past weekend.  What fun that was.  It was the first time I had used my bike since my kids were born.  It gave me a taste of what life will be like in the next few years once my little one can ride a bike too!! Fun stuff.  Our school time has been very productive these last few weeks.  I was worried when I extended school into July that it would be hard to concentrate but the boys are doing well and working hard to get their schoolwork done.  There are lots of outside breaks but that really helps them get the work done.   We are going camping this weekend after Jakes last t-ball game.  We are very excited to go camping.  There is  a fire ban around here, so no campfires :(  I love sitting around the fire reading and just relaxing.  Oh well.  We need to protect our forests and it is soooooo dry here that fires are just starting all over.   Well school is almost done for the day :)  Time to play. Have a great one!

Hey Allison!!! Thanks for the phone call today - although I wasn't home. Bummer! Rob said it was great talking with you. I laughed when he told me that he mentioned only 7 years and 2 months until we can move out there. hee hee! If we weren't going up north this summer, we'd definitely be coming out your way - sometime soon...that's for sure! Rob has to see what I mean when I say it's gorgeous out there!!!! = )

Well, we'll chat soon. Have a super weekend and say 'hi' to Smokey the Bear for me - I'm sure he's on the lookout for fires these days.

It sounds ssoooo beautiful there! I always love going to the mountains (although I haven't seen your mountains since I was a kid. =]) The closest mountains to us are in TN...but they're still beautiful. I know what you mean about how the kids seem to get through the schoolwork easier when they've done a few "extras" too (like spending time outdoors or riding bikes). Mine are the same way. =]

Blessings to You,
Deborah

I know what you mean about riding bikes. I've ridden around with the oldest one, and can't wait to take all of them. Carrie

Hi Allison ~
I too am looking forward to biking with my kids in a couple of years. It has been many, many moons since I have been on a bike. I don't even want to know how I will look! But, I can totally see Bob, me and the boys riding together as a family. Matthew got his 1st 2-wheeler (w/ training wheels of course) for his 5th birthday last month. Zach is still on a tricycle - and he doesn't even pedal! :-) Just pushes himself along.
God bless ~
