I am loving this unit! We have spent more than three weeks on this unit! We did a week on Penguins, a week on Chickens and ducks and now we are going to do a few days on owls and end with the Turkey. Then we are going to take a bit of a break and just do a Thanksgiving lesson. Then we are going to spend the month of December studying about The reason why we celebrate Christmas! We are also going to be making a few Christmas gifts and cards. We might have to draw a few birds as well.

If you haven't watched March of the Penguins this is a great unit to watch that movie. We read lots of books and I think each one of the kids has a favirote penguin!  Douglas likes the Rockhopper. Taylor likes the Emperor and Jackson likes the little blue...What fun!

It sounds like the unit has been oodles of fun!
That's one I'm actually wanting to do - but things keep getting in the way. Like ear tubes for the baby. :-)

Thanks for the advice on the March of the Penguins. I'll be looking for that one when we get to the Birds unit.
