Nov. 9, 2007 - Lauren's Homecoming
Posted by Butterflie927
When someone goes Home it is a common thing to look at that person's life and think on the things that he or she has done. It has been no different here.
There has been a special bond between Lauren and Ray that was much too short.
After explaining to Rosie who Lauren is to me and Joe began calling him Uncle Daddy.
Uncle Daddy was a name given to him by a 2 1/2 year old little boy who had his world turned upside down. Little did we know, then, how much Lauren would contribute to that little boy's life.
Now over 26 years later, he is a man with a sweet wife and the two most wonderful little boys.
I left Michigan with my husband, my son's father, to start a new life for our family. Without God as our focus, life fell apart in very short order. The skills I had supported myself with in Michigan were pretty much useless in the post boom town, Houston, TX. It was a time where jobs where few and prices where as high as the gushing oil wells had been. I couldn't just go out and get a job.
However, God hadn't abandoned us. Lauren and Lynda let my son and I move in to their house. This was a very big adjustment for all of us.
I could go on and on, but in the final analysis, Lauren's wit and incredible wealth of Biblical knowledge will be with us a lifetime and will affect the lives for generations to come.
So now he is with the Source of all knowledge and the Healer of all pain.
