Wild and Wonderful West Virginia
Mar. 7, 2006 - computer illiterate

Well, after several minutes of trying to figure out how to post again, I finally called scrapquilt and she fixed me right up---my daughter is so smart!  Things have been busy in WV, butchered a hog and got it put up with a lot of help from step-mom, scrapquilt, son, and of course dear husband.  I love the fact that we are gradually getting away from preservatives and other things that couldn't be good for us.  We now have chickens, eggs (of course), and rabbits for fresh food.  We bred the rabbits again and on th 14 we should have new babies.  Then 6 weeks after will be butchering time for them.  For those who have never eaten tame rabbit, it almost tastes like chicken...yes, they say that about everything don't they (snake, frog legs...)  I would love to start making my own soap and my dh has agreed to let me order some from quiverfull to try it first.  She makes hers from goats milk, and it is supposed to be very mild and moisturizing.

We are now in the bassett puppy business...I have tried several things to try to supplament our income...and finally after much praying bought two bassett hounds. Our new puppies arrived March 1 and we have now sold all four of them...yes!!!  At $250.00 a piece that will pay for a vacation this year.  I have really been struggling with whether to go back to work or not..I really feel guilty when dh goes to work each morning and I know that he really does not like to.  I felt each time that I prayed about it that the Holy Spirit was telling me just to rely on Jesus...but couldn't decided if that was actually the Holy Spirit talking or just my flesh not wanting to go back to work.  The puppy thing has relieved some of those feelings...God will provide as long as I am doing His will.
