My Diary of No Shampoo -- Day 6 and 7

Posted on Apr. 26, 2008 at 4:43 AM - Post Comment

Here is day 6 and 7 of no shampoo. Day 7 was today and day 6 was yesterday.

Day 6 (yesterday, Thursday April 3rd)-

I didn't do anything to my hair. When I got ready for bed, I brushed to distribute the oils to the rest of my hair. I now can feel my hair getting a little oily. I haven't shampooed my hair with egg whites since Monday, I have been rinsing my hair with water when I took my showers earlier in the week.

Day 7 (today, Friday April 4th)-

Today my hair feels as oily as it usually does when I use store shampoo, which is a lot of oil. I shampooed it with whipped egg whites. It feels GREAT!

It will be an entire week tomorrow that I have been without store shampoo! I really feel the difference in my hair! It is great! Usually, with store shampoo, my hair and the top of my hair was practically soaked with oils, it was disgusting. Shampoo would dry my scalp out so bad and then I would start to get oily just an hour or two after I shampooed my hair. Now my hair has moisture in it, egg shampoo does not dry out my hair, and my hair is way less oily. My hair is softer, healthier looking, and I now have a little bit of natural wave back to my hair like I used to have when I was little.

If you have problems with store shampoos or if you are looking for a natural shampoo try this. Give it a week or two to get use to it. I think you will really like the results!

You can also use baking soda to clean your hair. For a conditioner use and acid like vinegar or lemon juice. This causes the fibres of the hair which stand on end (thick, dry fuzzy look) when confronted with an alkaline substance like soap, to lay back down, leaving the hair silky.
I read up on this a few months ago. Also bought a book on baking soda. Apparently you can dust it on as a natural underarm deodorant too.
