Plasticine? Do You Know What it is? I DO!!Posted on Apr. 26, 2008 at 4:46 AM - Post CommentFor my family's homeschooling, we read lots and lots of books. I am finishing reading the book Mary Poppins in the Park by P.L. Travers. It is a very exciting book! There is always something exciting in every chapter, so it will really hold young children's attention. My brother LOVES being read too. He loved to hear any kind of story! One of the chapters in the book was called,"Park in the Park". That chapter was talking about Jane making little platicine people and making a tiny park within the park she was in. I couldn't figure out what plasticine was. My brother kept saying, "What is plasticne?" I didn't know......until we saw a package if it at the Cracker Barrel. It was on sale too, so Mom bought a package of it to play with and make are own little people like Jane did in the story. Here is the person I made
For those of you who don't know what Plasticine is, it is....well....it's plasticine. It is like a clay, playdough type of thing. It is really fun to play with and it never dries out! The camera is dead so I couldn't load the picture of my brothers on here. It is interesting how I discovered something, through a book, that I might have never noticed in my life. You can really learn from books! My family doen't do much of a curriculum, we just read, write, and do math. Any person would enjoy Mary Poppins in the Park by P.L. Travers. it is so exciting!! My favorite chapter was the first one in the book, "Every Goose a Swan". My little brother and I laughed and laughed and laughed at the charactors in that chapter! It was too funny! It is so neat to see how much a young child enjoys a book. Some parts of the book I thought he wasn't really listening to, but I found out later when he was telling EVERYBODY about it who would listen. He kept saying,"Oh, It is so funny. You have to read that book." It gives me such a good feeling to see how much he enjoys being read to. *~*Belle*~*
