A Day in the Life

Roadschooling Anyone?

Have you ever just wanted to sell everything and become a gypsy?  Does the merry-go-round of life have you so dizzy that you can’t see straight?  Have you ever wanted to downsize and make life simpler?  I am at that point in my life.  I am so tired of our rat race.  I have had this great dream for so many years, but circumstances of life have kept the dream from becoming reality.  Well, no more.  We’re ready to make our dream come true.

The first step of our plan is to sell our home.  Anyone want to buy a great home in South Florida?  It’s for sale and we are praying that someone buys it.  While the house is for sale, I will be giving away, throwing away and selling our stuff (and boy do we have some stuff).

Then after the house is sold, we want to buy a travel trailer and travel across the US.  I don’t know the specifics of everything yet. But the are many options.  Like we could workamp across the US and go from job to job.  That might be a possibility because we would have to earn a small income.

Call us crazy, but I think we’d like it.  Our oldest will be attending college in Nashville.  We will just have our 3 boys and our one daughter.  They would love the adventure (and boy would it be an adventure).

Roadschooling!  I like it!

Hey, we've dreamed about it, too. Just have to figure out the income thing. My husband's more of a scientist bureaucrat type, so don't know that would translate into making money being on the road. Hey. His specialty is environmental science. Cleanups. We'll just travel from one polluted site to another while he organizes the cleanup effort! Hm. We'll have to talk some more.

Full Time RVing

My wife and I are seriously planning on RVing full time as well. We have four children, 13,10,8 & 5. We live in Atlanta and we are tired of the rat race as well. I am in the mortgage business and all I really need to do my job is high speed internet, a phone and a fax. We are planning on selling our home and going full time for 6 months to a year (maybe longer if we love it). Good luck and maybe we will see you on the road. Let us know how it goes. loeckens@comcast.net

We have a 1972 Crown school bus parked in front of our home ready for conversion so we can embark on the journey of a lifetime. We are so done with the rat race. In two months my husband and I along with our seven children and little dog will be hitting the road for who knows how long. Our dream is quickly becoming a reality and I am more than ready.
