Kids for the Kingdom

Well,

Alyssa kicked off her club on Saturday, "Kids for the Kingdom".  She was a little disappointed that we didn't have a bigger turn out.  Including her sister she had 5.  Saturdays are not the best days to probably do something like this.  We prayed that God would bring the kids He wanted to be here.  So we must trust in His plan.

She did such a good job telling the Easter story using the Resurrection Egg kit.  After telling the story she let each child come up and put the eggs in order according to sequence in story.  That was really cool.  Not only did they hear the story, but they got their hands on it, helped the other kids put it in order and heard an invitation to come to Jesus, the ABC version.

Thanks for those of you who prayed for her that day.  We will try again on another afternoon; an after school time would probably be better.  At any rate, she had practice in planning, preparing and praying.  Three disciplines we need for ministry whether it's motherhood, teaching sunday school, homeschooling, or working outside the home.  We also had a chance to discuss perseverance.

In Christ,

Renee

when JoJo was about 9 or so she started an "Isrealites CLub". They met once a month and did community service projects (raked elderly yards, collected canned goods for the food pantry, etc.) There were just 4-8 each month but it was a great time, and I always provided a fun snack and game for them when they finished. I had actually forgotten about it until I read your blog tonight!! I hope you'll let her continue, even if only one other girl shows up, it is such a great thing for them. You and Yours are in our prayers and I'd love to see you soon!! I need to talk to you about mentor program for next year, too....Take care!

I applaud you for recognizing that God sent exactly the right number of children for the day. We get caught up in numbers and sometimes overlook what He is doing. Perhaps more children would have been far too chaotic and the day wouldn't have gone as smoothly. I'll pray that your next one will go as well.
