Last Weekend

I know I haven't posted in a while so I thought I would post about my crazy weekend.

Ok so last weekend on Friday my brother and sister came home from college, but I didn't get that much time with them because I had a sleepover to go to a one of my basket ball friend's house. It was a mystery party, and I was Princess Fushia ( I think that was how you spelled it) so I dressed up with a nice red top, a flower skirt, a crown ( that I made out of decorative cooking sheets, and pipe cleaners), some high healed light up shoes ( my sister's shoes), and  some jewelry, and a pretty hair clip. We played some fun games, that had to do with mystery stuff. And in between the games we had different food courses where we had to tell things about our characters. We had to figure out who " killed" Dr. Doom. I didn't get it right, but it was still fun :D. After the mystery was solved we played a lot of ballon volley ball. Then we watched "Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs". ( Which I had just seen a few days earlier, but it was a pretty good movie, and it was fun watching it with friends). Then we went to bed. In the morning we had french toast, and bacon for breakfast. Then we all got in the car, and went to Dick Nickles park to play beach/sand Volleyball. It was fun playing for a little while. But then one time when I was going for the ball my toe hit someones shoe( I was bare footed) and my big toe really started hurting. I stopped playing and watched while I put cold sand on my toe. Then when I was going to get some water, and bee sting my same foot. Apparently it helps to draw with a black sharpie when you got stung by a bee, the black didn't have a  lot of ink so we tried a blue one, and...........it worked, it really helped it stop hurting! Then most of the girls came with me when I was dropped off at my house. Then I wrapped my toe in duct tape, and put a baking soda paste on my bee sting and took it easy for the rest of the day. On Sunday I helped out in Kidstuff( The 1-4th grade children's ministry) by being in a skit. I got to be my moms arms, and make"pancakes". It was really funny, and my mom got pretty messy. That night we went to a really cool place for a God of Hope ministry thing ( They reach out to people in prison. My dad goes almost every Friday). The place was where we've had AWANA banquests in the past so I'd been there before, but ti was still fun. We had BBQ for supper, and my mom bid on a silent action thing. We didn't win but it was still fun. Then us kids left a little early so my brother and sister could get back to college.
My toe is much better now and I can even run . And right now the front door to our house is out in the front, being sanded, and stuff so it can be repainted, and look nice again.

Tag!!!!

I got tagged so here it goes

So, your caught on another planet…. What do you do?

The conditions: Red planet kind of like mars, with frozen water deposits, and a average temperature of -40F.

What you have: A shuttle with no engine. A half full fuel supply. A damaged and weak radio antenna. Enough oxygen to last you under normal conditions up to 30 weeks. Repair tools, but some are multi-man tools, and you are the only one alive.

Time to survive 20 weeks ( or you run out of fuel)

Try to be creative with the explanations

Let’s see I guess I would try to fix the antenna as best I could with some of the tools, and then try to contact someone. If I couldn’t contact someone I would try to find something to make a engine out of, and then try to build a engine, and get back to earth.

Painting and Concert of Praise

During the last few days of July through the first few days of August my dad went on a missions trip to Ghana. My mom wanted to surprise him when he got back. So my siblings and I, along with my cousin helped her paint my parents room. First we moved out all of the stuff, and then we started painting the top half of the room ( It was a little more than half) " Humble Gold". My mom had already taken the wall paper off in the bathroom, but she prepared it for painting over about a day. While she was getting the bathroom ready we painted the bottom half a maroon. I taped a line so there would be a straight line between the colors. My mom finished the bathroom and the others painted it. I helped paint the cabinets with a fresh coat of white paint. We also put a boarder up around the whole room. The fun thing that we did while we painted was that we listened to Adventures in Odyssey, " The Novacom Series". We put everything back in the room. When we were almost done the mirror in my the bathroom fell and a part of it broke. My mom got a new one but she still hasen't put it up yet. While my mom went to get my dad at the airport, my sister, and I made the bed and decorated it some. Then we had Catfish for lunch and we showed my dad our bathroom ( which we painted like a bamboo shack), then he went into his room, he was excited, and surprised. Then my dad told us about his trip. He was in the newspaper and he also was on a Ghana cooking show :D.

On August 9th we had The Concert Of Praise!! The Concerct of Praise is a awsome event our church has after The Great Adventure ( Back Yard Bible Clubs, and mission trips). It was a lot of fun. They had a texting thing where you text a message to them and then they would put it up on a screen. It was awsome!!! Almost every time after The Concert Of Praise we go to DQ!!! It was fun, and I filled out a application fourm for the fun of it.
Well that's all I have for now. Work hard in school!!!!!

( If anyone could make me a name thing that would be awsome)

BYBC, and Horse Camp

Well during the 12-18th of July our church had Back Yard Bible Clubs. It was a lot of fun. In the mornings we would do service projects, and in the evening we would do clubs. On Monday we handed out BYBC invitations, then we went swimming. Then we had clubs, we got to get to know the kids. On Tuesday we went to see a movie, then we helped out this art camp, and then we had clubs. On Wednesday we picked up trash on a highway, and the team I was with picked up a ton of packing peanuts. Then we went to my house and swam, it was my sister's birthday so we had some cake too. Then we had water day at the clubs, it was lots of fun!!!! On Thursday we cleaned books a a school, and went to someones house to swim. Then we had clubs, and one of the kids at our first club accepted Christ!!! Before I continue I want to let you know that before Thursday two kids had come to Christ ( which is great ) but then on Thursday around 9 kids came to Christ!!! Friday was our last day, we cleaned books at the school again, and we came to my house. Friday was another wet day, and two kids came to Christ at the first club, and at the second club another kid came to Christ!! It was great!!!! On Saturday we had Summerfest, it's like a big carnival, and they had a helicopter. I helped run the Velcro Wall, and the Firey Furnace ( Where kids spray you with water ), I also helped my sister and mom some with face painting. It was really fun.At the end they have these drawings and a lot of the kids that came to our club won!! It was a lot of fun.

The next Monday I packed up and went to horse camp!!!! It was a little scary at first because I didn't know any of the girls going to the camp but in the end I made some pretty good friends. When we first arrived at camp we play a game to get to know the girls better, and then we had lunch. Then we got to pick out some electives that we would do every day. I picked out Horse ( Horseback riding ), music, and adventure, but only one other person signed up for adventure so we ended up doing 3/4 ( A beauty type class, it was fun!! ). That evening we did a
counselor  hunt and only one of the counselors was caught!!! Then we went to chapel, and had a lesson about Ester. The next day we did our electives, and then we went "swimming" on a big water slide. Every evening we did something different Tuesday we had the Clue Game, which is really fun. You have to for around asking people what they knew about a lost goat ( all part of the game ) and you would have to do something to get the information. After that we had supper and went to chapel, and learned about delight. The next day Wednesday was pretty much the same, we did electives, and went swimming, and a bug guy came and we caught different bugs and learned about them. While we were eating supper it started getting windy and we had to run inside we the wind got really hard. We stayed inside for a while, and then I went out to look for my swimming stuff ( Which had blown off of the rail ), while I was putting my swimming stuff up it started raining!!! I went back to the guest house ( Where the cooks made the food ) and waited to see what we would do about chapel. We ended up driving instead of riding the wagon ( which we had gone in the past two nights). At chapel they talked about trust. The next day we had the usual electives, swimming, and then we did our skits. It was really fun to do them, all of the skits were really funny!!!! :) Then we went to chapel, and learned about waiting. The next day we had electives, and swimming, but we also got to see Miss. Kneehigh. Then we went to pack up, while our parents came, and then we had some BBQ. After that we sang some song that we had sung in chapel. Then the people that were in the music class ( including me) did a choreographed dance to the song " Saddle Up Your Horses" which we had been learning most of the week. Then we sang " In Christ Alone", which we also learned during the week. After that I got all of the girls e-mails,got the new Camp Winchester shirt, and then went home. It as a tiring, but fun two weeks.

The 4th of July

           Happy Independence

                    Day!!!!!!

                                         I just thought I'd say

                          Happy Birthday America!!!!!!!!

Here is the Star Spangled Banner

Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Boot Camp

Last week my brother, sister, and I all went to "Boot Camp", which is a camp that gets youths ready for Backyard Bible Clubs. We left on Monday in the afternoon and got to the high school ( The place where the camp was), and then we learned the material for Monday. We had supper then we went to the first session, there was a talk, and them we worshiped. The next day we got up and had breakfast, then went to the morning session, after that we went to the gym to learn the material for Tuesday. Then we had team time to practice the material. After that we had evaluated on the material. We had lunch then we met in the auditorium. Then we went to Caritas for a service project. I got to work with the food scratching bar codes. Then I scratched bar codes on medicine. When we got back we practiced the material for Monday and got evaluated. Then we had supper. After that we had session. The next few days were the same except  we didn't have evaluations after the afternoon. On Wednesday, we went to play Disk Golf, and on Thursday we had games training, and prayer. Then on Friday we did the same but after we got evaluated we packed, and took a few picturse of our church group, and of some of the teams. Then we had lunch, and headed back. Well that was what happened. It was fun, but it was also very tireing.

Vacations, plays, movies!!

For my dads birthday we went to San Antonio, we stayed at a nice hotel, and got to swim. I got to met Coach K, the head coach for Duke. I got to put some with my dad, while we were there I went with my mom to see the Hannah Montana movie. I am not a Hannah Montana fan but I didn't want to see Star Trek so I saw it instead.
On memorial day all of our family, visited a veteran, and all of us, except my brother saw, Night in the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. It was pretty good.

On the 22nd of May My mom, my sister, and I went to see my cousins play: Little woman. On the 1st of June we saw Up in 3D.  The next day was my brothers birthday, we got to go to Gatti Town for supper, and talk to my oldest brother ( who is in Indiana right now, selling books over the summer). Then my brother opened his presents, and had to hunt for some of them.
That Thursday, the 4th we went to my grandparents house for the Tom Tom ( I festival in Yoakum, the town my grandparents live near). On Friday night my sister, mom, dad, cousin, and I went to polka, then we met up with my aunt and my sister, cousin, and I watched a rodeo. The next day we went into town and watched the Tom Tom parade, it was fun watching it, there were lots of floats, cars, and horses. After the parade, we walked to Subway ( Yes we did walk), and then we went to a snowcone place. Then my aunt came and picked up my sister, brother, cousin, and I and we went to the park to see what was going on. We looked around at mini shops. We got back to my grandparents house, and watched the Belmont Stakes.

My Birthday, and my Birthday party!!

May 16th was my birthday, and the day of the Preakness. We watched the race, and made cake. When I opened my presents there were only three. But then there was a note saying a "thief" had stolen the presents. We all ran around the hose looking for the presents. I got a necklace, a book, a bowl that my sister made, some hand sanitizer, some bath gel, a pool toy, a $10 gift card to Wal-Mart, Bolt, goggles, tic tacks, two Nancy Drew games, a towel, flip-flops, getting to go to a horse camp, Pony packages, and maybe riding lessons. It was fun watching the Preakness, and that Rachel Alexandra won.

On the 24th I had my party, one of my friends came home with us from church. We decorated, and made water balloons before everyone else got there. The pizza got to our house right when Rene arrived, then everyone else got there. We ate the pizza, and talked some. Then we made tye-dye t-shirts. It was fun making our shirts, we got to make our own designs, and pick out our oun colors to make them with. After we finished our shirts we had cookie cake, with a horse design on it, and ice cream to go with it. Then I opened presents. I got Reeses penut butter cups, a $10 gift card to target, an apron, Uno Flash, a Webkinz, old recipie Double Bubble gum, and old-recipie, Hershey's chocolate bar, a $10 Wal-Mart gift card, and a few cards. Then we cooled off by swimming. We had lots of fun in the water with water balloons, and water guns. It was a really fun party!

Racing News, Updated!

On May 1st was the Kentucky  Oaks, I didn't get to watch it live but I watched it on the internet, and  Rachel Alexandra won with Calvin Boral riding her! The next day May 2nd was the Kentucky Derby. I was rooting for Friesian Fire, he wasn't doing the best so I started rooting for Pioneer of the Nile. When all of a sudden Mine that Bird came up and won the race, at 50-, and Calvin Boral was also riding him! It was really cool. Rachel Alexandra was bought by another horseman, who started to consider to enter her in the Preakness, the next "jewel" in the Triple Crown. Rachel's new owner ended up entering her in the Preakness. This was a problem for Calvin Boral, who rode both Rachel Alexandra and Mine that Bird. Calvin chose Rachel Alexandra as his mount for the Preakness, as he said she was the best horse he had ever ridden. That left Mine that Bird without a jockey, but Mike Smith stepped in to ride Mine that Bird. The Preakness came and it was exciting. I wasn't sure who I was going for. The race started and Mine that Bird strated in last just like at the Derby, and Rachel Alexandra started up in second, right behid Big Drama, and quickly took the lead. The end was comming around and Rachel was still in the lead, but Mine that Bird had started moving up and was gaining ground fast. Down to the wire Rachel was still in the lead but Mine that Bird was catching up to her. In the end Rachel Alexandra won the Preakness, with Mine that Bird a close second. Rachel Alexandra was the first horse to win the Preakness for post #13, and the first filly to win the Preakness in 85 years! It was an exciting day, and now the next race on everyones mind is the Belmont Stakes, which is on June 6th.

Update

The Belmont Stakes
was on June 6th. I was at my grandparents house when it was on. I was mostly rooting for Mine that Bird. The race started out with Mine that Bird in last, and Dunkirk in the lead. Mine that Bird made a move near the end and started catching up, a little to fast. He got in the lead with a little longer in the race. Then Summer Bird made his move and caught up to Mine that Bird, Dunkirk, and Charitable Man, and passed them all up to win the race. It was a little disappointing, but it was cool/funny, the announcer said the "other bird" won. Another cool thing is that the jockey of Summer Bird is Kent Desormeaux who ride Big Brown last year and lost, and came up to win. Plus Mine that Bird, and Summer Bird, are both sons of Birdstone, the winner of the 2004 Belmont Stakes. So even though Mine that Bird didn't win, it was a good race, and his brother Summer Bird won.

Here is the Belmont Stakes

Easter

My Easter was pretty good. My sister, and brother came home early from college for Easter break. We got
to spend time together but we still had to do homework. We went to a Good Friday service at our church.
On Saturday ( The 11th ) my sister and I went to a little Easter party thing down at our neighborhood park.
We got some cookies, and cotton candy. After the party all of us but my oldest brother headed down to my grandparents house in Yoakum to celebrate Easter, and my grandmothers birthday. My aunt and cousin were also down there so it was a lot of fun. When we got there My sister, cousin and I talked for a while, and I mentioned cake when my brother said he needed sugar to wake him up. Then my cousin remembered that the cake was still in the oven and we all raced back to the other house across the field. ( My grandparents houses are right across from each other, but there is a field in between them) While we were running there was a donkey in another field across the road and he started braying, and said, " It's not that funny!" My cousin laughed. ( It wasn't funny that my cousin left the cake in the oven when she came over to us). When we got in the house the cake was on the counter, my aunt had heard the buzzer go off and she took the cake out of the oven. So we had ran over there to save the cake when my aunt already had saved it. Us three girls visited a while longer, then we make the icing for the cake. After we iced the cake, my grandmother opened a present from my cousin and we ate the cake. After boiling some eggs we got to dye them. It was a lot of fun. Next we started filling up the Easter eggs with candy. It took a long time to finish but we finally did. The parents went out and hid the 100 and something eggs. Then the kids went out to look for them. My brother got the most of them. My sister, cousin, and I made the parents go inside while we hid some eggs for them. After the parents found the eggs we headed home. That was most of our Easter fun. On Sunday we went to church. My  oldest brother, and my sister left to go back to college. After they had left, we finished up the Resurrection Eggs that we had started during the week. It was a pretty good Easter week.

Trip to Virginia

This is a story I wrote for English class about my basket ball trip to Virginia.

As #23 on the girls Cougar basketball team, I got to enjoy my first year at Nationals. During the school’s spring break, all of the Cougars headed up to Lynchburg, Virginia, to play in the    Home School East Coast Basketball Championship. While some of the players drove leaving on Monday others, including me and my family flew on Tuesday. When we got there we only had one night to rest up before the games which started the next day. There was more to do than just play and watch games. Some of our players entered contests for three point shooting or slam dunking. After the first two days of playing none of the Cougar teams had won any games. The girls ended up getting placed in the division 1A to play for first place in a Championship game. The game was held in a stadium that held up to 8,000 people!  After  watching a slam dunk contest in which one of the Cougar boys, Thomas got 2nd place, all of the girls started warming up. After a while of shooting, and practicing, Coach Alan Sr. pulled us aside to talk about the other team and how they played. Then the game started. It started off with us winning by a few points. After the first quarter I subbed for one of the other girls.    I played for a few minutes when one of themost exciting things happened. One of our girls, Hailey, got the rebound, and ran back, and I started running back too.Hailey took a shot and missed, and the ball came right to me! I got it and shot it up really quick, and it went in! It was the first basket I had made all season. I was so excited. While I was running back I even did a little hop, and got two high fives from my teammates while I was still on the court. Some of the girls even said that Coach jumped 4 feet off the bench! When we had a time out the assistant

coach, hugged me and I got a high five from Coach and the  other players. After a little longer on the court I went back to the bench. After half time I got to go in one more time. During that time I took another shot that went short but one of my teammates. Ashleigh got it and tried to take it up. She got fouled in the process, and took two free throws. I got subbed back out again, but the game didn’t cool down. The other team  started catching up. It started getting really close near the end. In fact it got so close that they tied us at the ending buzzer and the game went into overtime! It was super exciting, even if I  didn’t get to play anymore.

The game stayed pretty close the rest of the time. The minutes started winding down and

we gained a little lead. We had the game in the bag when there were only 0.9 seconds left

in the game and  we where leading by 4 points. When the last second ran out, Coach, the

assistant coach, and I leapt up and the girls on the court ran back to the bench. It was super

exciting. It was really neat that in the game every girl scored a point! After they presented the other team with their trophy, they called our name, and we went up to get our banner and trophy. In the pictures I got to hold the 1st place trophy! After all of the picture taking both teams met in the middle and prayed. One of the coolest things is that the team we played were also the Cougars, and after we prayed, we all did one last shout, 1..2..3..Cougars! It was lots of fun! After a few more hugs and congratulations, some of the girls went out to celebrate. The boys played some Championship games too, but they lost. In the end I had a great time, and I hope to go again next year.

I might put some pictures up later.

Kittens!!

I've been very busy and haven't posted in a long time.  A while ago two of my cats had kittens.  They are very cute and a big now. I can't get the pictures to work right now so I'll try to describe them the best I can. The first batch of kittens had four and we gave away two of them already . The ones we gave away were a dark gray striped, male kitten that we named Jasper ( The new owners renamed him) and the other one we gave away to the same family is a light gray, female kitten that we named Juno ( The new owners also renamed her to Dusty). The other kitten are an orange and white, female kitten named Ginger, a calico, female kitten named Juliet. The second batch also had four, we still have all of them but we are going to give them away too. They are a black and white, male kitten with a white encircling a black nose named Bandit, another black and white, male kitten with not as a distinct circle around his nose named Andy. They are two grey striped, male kittens named Max, and Mike ( for now ). We also have the two mothers Jenny and Lilly, they are both grey striped but Jenny has some orange highlights, and Lilly has more white. We also have a orange and white, male cat named Alex, he is a really sweet cat. Those are my cats and kittens.

Fireproof is a new movie in theaters. It is a great movie.
It's about a husband and wife that are struggling in their
relationship. The husband gets a program from his father
to try to fix his relationship. It's a great movie about faith,
marriage and love. It's also has some really funny parts.
I encourage you to go see Fireproof. It's powerful and strong.

One of the best movies I've ever seen.

Horses

I love horses. I don't actually have a horse,
but I have learned a lot about them.
I have been riding for about two years.
It's been a while since I've gone riding,
but I really want to go again. I love the
thrill and excitement and speed when
your riding. Horses are amazing animals.
They used to live in the wild,
and there are still a few places
that keep land for horses to run free on
. Horses are naturally flight animals but
sometimes they will fight if provoked.
Horses are amazing. They love to run, they also can jump.
There are many different colors that horses can have the most common are
black, brown, and grey. But there are different variations of these colors
and lots of other beautiful colors.

There are different breeds, but there are so many that it would take
a long time to explain all of them.
I hope you enjoyed my first post even if it was a little short.
