December 23, 2008 - Descriptive Pieces
I've been looking over some of my writing and saw that there is either to much dialog or too little desciptive parts (or both). So I decided to write some short descriptive pieces. Some of them are really bad and some of them are good, so you get to decide which you like the best and give suggestions or praise. There is two animal pieces, three person pieces, two places, and two things. Here we go:
Animal: She was small, small and wobbly. When she tried to stand, she fell. Her mother nudged her, a gentle reminder that she could do this. The filly know she must stand up. She tried hard, her sides heaving, her golden pelt shining. Finally, she stood and lifted her head in triumph, every gleaming piece of fur saying she was proud of herself.
Person: An old fashiond snow maiden was she. Her yellow hair fell across her shoulders, bouncing when she walked. Blue eyes sparkled on the face, and a youthful smile showed on her lips. Her walk was quick, brisk, as if she was late for tea. Anyone who looked at her would know her heart was full of joy and her burdens light.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE! Place: It was a beautiful country, with grass growing wild and bluebells, buttercups, and white roses dotting the lucious green. Off to all the sides were earth-born mountains. Snow stood on there tips, though it was spring down there. A small village sat in the middle of the land. There were about thirteen houses in all, with thatched roofs and bussy people running in and out. Children lay in the grass, watching the cloudless sky.
Animal: A cat sat on a fence, her eyes unblinking. Her black fur sat montienless. Suddenly, she sprang up, as if she heard a dog coming at her. As soon as it happened, though, the puss relaxed, and walked along the fence until she jumped down. A look of satisfaction played on her lips. She slinked away and blended in with the night, and that was the last we saw of her.
Person: There he sat, reading. His gaze fell upon the book and never came up out of it, intence. His head was slightly bent over it, his black rimmed hat broad. His mouth was serious, but a smile danced in his sea green eyes.
Place: A city filled with tall skyscrapers; gray and shining in the sun. It's paved roads busy with honking cars. People walking on the sidewalks clad in in-style fashions.l The clouds are low and foggy. Stores line the streets and advertisments are everywhere. I MADE THE SENTENCES QUICK IN THIS ONE TO MATCH THE PACE OF THE CITY; QUICK, BREATHLESS, EXT.
Thing: A small statue of a horse sits on a ceaderwood desk. His front two legs are lifted, which makes him rearing. He is a silvery-blue, with his main flowing, his tail flying. The statue's ears are up, alert. You can almost see the horse slam down on all four legs and gallop off.
Thing: Leather bound, small, torn in some pages; a Bible sits on a side-table. Flipping through the thin pages, a note falls out. Opening the blue item, you see embelishment. A strong sence of perfume wraps up around you nose. You read the worn writing. Making it out as best you can, you read: His word, my treasure. You relize this is your grandmothers Bible. You put this down, a treasure, forever.
Person: A lass of elven sits on the couch, her skirt sprawled out. Her head is bent over her writing, her hair falling off to the side. Her bare feet, for she never wears shoes, show and her blue eyes are downcast intence on her writing. A watch gleams on her right wrist, and ink-stains cover her hands. she looks up, and turns her notebook around to read. She relizes the last description is of herself, and she smiles.
Well, there you have them! I hope you like them.

December 18, 2008 - Christmas
Christmas has come so fast! I don't feel ready at all, I only have some gifts for my family, and that's it. I'm afraid I won't get them done on time, Christmas is less than a week away now! But is Christmas really all about gifts? I mean, it's fun to get gifts, even give gifts, but what about Jesus? Where dose he fit in to all this? Some people think that all the lights and presents are distractions, but couldn't they just be a way of showing the joy of Jesus? Everyone seems so happy at Christmas time, even if their not Christens. It's the joy of Jesus, without them even knowing it, that fills their lives at Christmas time.
Joy of Jesus. Do you have the joy?

December 17, 2008 - A Poem
A horse! A horse, my kingdom for a horse! That's certainly how I feel, and here is a poem about my dream horse. I know, I capatalize things I'm not supposed to, and the spelling dosn't make any sence, but I thought I'd post it.
My Dream Horse
My dream horse, all covered in Spots
White atop Black, Black atop White.
Oh! How I would like that a lot
My dream horse, covered in Spots.
My dream horse, galloping in pastures greener,
drinking from a Brook, trotting along.
Oh! Nothing could be still sweeter
My dream horse in pastures greener.
My dream horse, soft and gentle
or feisty and upbeat.
Oh! How I don't care; I'd give my toys a toss
for a dream horse, gentle and soft.
My dream horse, he or she, black or white, day or night.
The people that who want just one kind of horse
give me such a fright.
My dream horse, he, she, black, white, day or night.

December 15, 2008 - Tags, Snow, and More
'Ello all! I'm back on my blog *crowd gasps, it's been such a long time I've done a post that wasn't a tag*. Well, as some of you may or may not know, I am in the Inklings club as Lousia May Alcott (...I think that's how you spell it... I don't even know my own name! :D...) And, EowynDernhelm has tagged everyone on Inklings, so here it goes (don't worry, I'll post more than just this tag): The Christmas Tag 1. What is your favorite part of Christmas: Oh, the Christmas spirit, celebrating Jesus' birth, church specials 2. Where do you go on Christmas: Some years we go to Ohio to our grandparents house (on both sides) some years we just stay home. 3. What do you want most for Christmas: An MP3 Player or i-Pod, a laptop, books! 4. What is your fave Christmas movie: I don't know, there all so good! 5. What is your second fave Christmas movie: I don't know, there all so good! 6. Am I going on and on about Christmas movies: Not really 7. How many people do you have to buy presents for: 5 (my family), and all my friends I'll make things for or send out a nice e-mail. Hey! I don't have that much money right now! Though if my mom would tell me she's getting me a laptop then I won't have to save up for it and I can buy more things :) 8. What is your fave thing to do in the snow: Sledding down our front hill I guess 9. What is your fave Christmas carol: Oh I don't know, there all so good! (Hmm... can you tell I don't make a lot of favorites if everything is good?) 10. Do you like this Christmas Tag so far: Yep! 11. Have you gotten a Christmas Tree yet: Yes, it's all decorated and standing. 12. Have you ever built a gingerbread house: Yes! How much do you spend on Christmas presents: I don't know... 15. Did you enjoy this tag (it is ok if you didn't): Yes! It was fun 16. Who will you tag?: Luckyme ________________________________________________________________________ Well, I have some news about school. My family and I were in a thing called WIVA, a virtual academy. It's actually not homeschooling, which I think isn't fair because you stay at home and your mom teaches you, but you have to do the state testing (which is so boaring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) So a few days ago we quit WIVA because of some things and are now independently homeschooling again! And let me tell you, it's so much better. In WIVA, we were all in our sepreat grades and did things at all different times and usally mom was to busy to even check out work. Now we do history, vocab, and even some litarature together as a family and it is so much better. We have some joy back in our works, which shows me that your family can really bring joy if you stay close to them. There is only one downfall to this, we got our computer from WIVA so we'll have to send it back sometime. We'll get another one, but just as a heads up I won't be blogging a lot. More news will come your way on this later, so that when I do stop for a time it's not compleatly unexpected. ________________________________________________________________________ WE HAVE SNOW OUTSIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean, it's not a surprise, we always get snow, but it's just always fun to sled, watch the snow fall, or make snow angles. It's really fun, only, guess what, the snow is MELTING! Melting, on December 15th! I just hope it snows again, soon! _________________________________________________________________________ Well, I've got to go now, it felt good to blog again! Look for more updates soon! Horsewings

December 1, 2008 - December, Snow, and More
Well, happy first of December everyone! :) My favorite season is fall with winter close behind. I love curling up with a good book and a blanket, watching Christmas specials, and playing in the snow. We've been listning to a lot of Christmas music on the local Christan radio station, KLove. I love Christmas music, it's all happy with bells and Christan Christmas music tells about God's son coming down to earth.
___________________________________________________________________________________
This Christmas, our grandparents and cousins are coming over for the day. Me and my sister are going to do a bunch of dances for them to Psalm 139, Angles we have heard on high, Jesus I lift my eyes, and other songs. It's really fun to make up the dances, but our parents keep telling us to stop jumping around. "What? O.K., I'll tell Isabel to turn the music down." "What? O.K., we'll go downstairs." "What? O.K., we'll stop dancing right now." :)
___________________________________________________________________________________
I have some news for you all. I am now a part of Inklings (Beginningwriters). I'm so happy! I'm Louisa May Alcott and I'm writing my novel on my other blog, Trojenhelm Adventures. Speaking of that, I'm sorry no new posts have come, they will soon, but I've been busy. I'm up to Chapter 4 in my journal, but I just can't pull myself up to it to type it all up.
_________________________________________________________________________________
Now what did I want to tell you..... Oh! about the snow! We had a blizard last night (O.K., not a blizard but something close to that) and have a ton of snow on the ground! I can't wait to go play in all that white snow. When we were coming out of church yesterday, we got hit with snow! It was just pounding down on us, and we had to run to our care. *Shudders at the though of all that snow*
_________________________________________________________________________________
Hmm... I have a tag, but I'm keeping it for tomorrow, and there's nothing really to write without going completley of track of everything, so I think it's time to log off.

November 26, 2008 - Time Change!
All right, well, I feel that I've been to bussy on this blog. I fell like I'm always on it, if not posting then catching up on comments, looking at randome blogs, and just hanging out. And really, that's how I stated out with my other blog (bigsister) and then I got board of it. So I'm going to manage my time wisley. Here is a schedual:
MONDAY: Blog day. This is when I'll write randome posts about stuff and hang around blogger world.
TUESDAY: Catch up day. This is when I'll check many of my comments and comment on other people's blogs. I'll try to save my tags for Tuesday's.
WEDNESDAY: I might log on once on wednesday to check my comments.
THURSDAY: Blog day. (See Monday)
FRIDAY: (See Wednesday)
SATURDAY: Catch up day. (See Tuesday)
SUNDAY: I probably won't log on on Sunday's. I'm trying to spend more time with the family on Sunday.
Well, that's when you can expect me to be on and be doing. Just thought I'd post that down so you don't get upset at my limited blogging.

November 26, 2008 - LICE?????
O.K., I must explain, I don't like my hair that much. It's blonde, and strait as strait can be. I wish I had beautiful aburn hair that had some waves and curls to it. But I do like my hair enouph not to get lice. No, I don't have lice in my hair right now, but I am in danger for having it. You see, we're adopting a little boy from Ethiopia and almost all the kids there that have been in an opharnage have lice. So, when he comes home, my brothers, sister, and I might get lice.
But, do little bugs compare to the great saticfaction that we adopted someone who's mother was dying and puting him into a good home? Maybe, but to me personaly, no. I can't wait to have my little brother here. I'll play with him, teach him how to read, and teach him english. I'll just try to stay away from his head. :)
Just thought I'd post that update on little George, and in case you missed my last post about him click on "Roses on the Trail" in the catogories.

Have fun! _________________________________________________________________________________ Well, I LOVE English accents and I usally pretend I have one when I'm playing games. Sometimes, I can't even help it, but my voice just goes into accent mode! So when me and my mom were at the store a few days ago picking up a white elephant gift (we ended up getting some rat garland, a rat trap and skull necklases because all the Halloween things were on sale and it would be funny for a Christmas gift). So, where was I, oh yeah, picking up a white elephant gift. When we were in the checkout line ahead of us was a girl speaking in an English accent. Her "mum" was, too. I couldn't beleive it! Without even knowing it I spent the rest of the day speaking like that. _________________________________________________________________________________ So my three year old brother just got a Webkinz elephant (for giving up his pacifires) and named it Charlie Brown. He's so cute (my brother, not the elephant), making it dance and look around. Yesterday we went somewhere that had a bunch of books out for kids to read. And right there was Merry Christmas Charlie Brown! So I read it to him and he got really mad because he thought his elephant was Charlie. And, when we got home, he grabbed Charlie Brown and make him decorate his little Christmas tree and then yell "I've killed it!" Then he got all of our Webkinz and made us cheer him up. It was so cute! _________________________________________________________________________________ Well, I've got to go now, it was great to catch up again! Horsewings |

November 6, 2008 - Thanksgiving Story
I can't beleive it! Music stations are already playing Christmas music and stores already have Christmas things up. I love Christmas, it's one of my favorite time of years, but already? And what about Thanksgiving? Well, I thought I'd bring some Thanksgiving spirit w/ a short story. Here it is:
_______________________________
Ponelopy sat up in the Mayflower, yawned, and climed slipped on a navy blue and green plaid dress. She ran out to the deck, exited to hear the news of the day. Ponelopy was an eleven year old girl travling on the Mayflower to new land, America. She was an orphan, and her only brother, Robert, worked on the Mayflower.
"Robert," she called out when she reached the deck. And, just like a pirate she had read about in storybooks, Robert came climing down from the wach up on the top of the ship and swung himself onto the deck.
"Sleepy-head" he teased. "You missed the most important news."
"And what is that?" she asked. No one could be sick, Robert wouldn't be that happy, what could it be? "Oh! Has Jason finally aked Harmony to marry him?"
"No, it's even better." Even better than a wedding?
"Robert, waht is it?" Ponelpoy asked, baffled.
"Why don't you look and see? Or should I say, land and sea?"
Ponelpoy, taking the hint fast and running to look out over the deck, saw a thin sprip of land. America! America, the land of freedom. Where the pilgrims would be able to have freedom to go to church, and sing worship songs, and praise God as much as they wanted. But they were going to run into something they hadn't expected.
The first Thanksgiving was going to take place in two days, Ponelopy was so exited! That was when the pilgrims took there crops and made good things out of it. Pumpking Pie, Rosted Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, yum! Ponelopy was so exited she ran to her friend, Patrica's house, daughter of the town caller. But Patrica was with her dad, running and keeping a hand on her little sister, Jane.
"Pat, Patrica, wait up" Ponelopy called. She knew Patrica probably wouldn't wait, she was in great shape and could run for hours, but she took one look at the five year old, chubby and short-legged, and found her excuse. "Jane needs a brake anyway."
Patrica stopped and Jane leaned againts her big sister. "Now" Ponelopy asked "why were you running?"
"Pa said it wasn't save to stay in the house, I had to be a caller with him" Patrica said.
"I know, but why, Pat?"
"Indians" Jane answerd, eyes bright. "Indians are coming! They'll be here for Thanksgiving, it's not safe."
Ponelopy's thoughts ran. Indians? Why? What tribe? How dare they come in time for Thanksgiving? What if it's a masscare? What if they kill the whole village? I must warn Robert! But I must stay here, help Pat and Jane.
"Of course it's safe, Jane" said Patrica, trying to remain calm. "There probably peacfull Indians."
Ponelopy didn't do a great job of the same task "even if they are peacfully, we need to get ready. What if they aren't? What if..."
"Ponelopy!" Patrica cut in. "Go home and warn Robert."
"Are you sure you don't need help?" Ponelopy asked.
"I am sure. Now go. You can't stay out, you'll catch a cold. You've always been frail and it's drab today and going to rain. Get in where it's safe." Even though it sounded like she was talking about a cold, there was a secret message hidden in it. Get home where it's safe from Indians.
"You don't need to mother me, Pat, but, I will. A cold for Thanksgiving would be...bad. See you at the Secret Society meeting." If we live.
On Thanksgiving day Ponelopy didn't let Robert out of her sight. She was scared to deth of going out of the house, but when Robert insited on going out, she had to go with him. There she heard some of the towns people talking.
"I think, if there even are Indians, that the'll be peacfull and give us chickens" said a frail little man named Hugo, the town teacher, who didn't like war.
"Humph!" scoffed a plump farmer who enjoyed a good fight. "Indians being peacfull, who ever heard of such a thing? Now listen, scholer, you need to get ready. Oh wait, you can't carry a rake and reliy on everyone elses money for your living. Farmers grow there own crops, sell there own crops, make there own money." He laphed a harty laph, where Ponelopy found nothing funny in his small speech.
"Yes, so Indians can kill, but are there any Indians? What if it's a myth?" Hugo replied, looking nervously around him, as if he doubted his own words.
"Men!" A woman named Charity called out, a hard worker who had strong opiniouns. "Men, listen. Indians are coming Hugo. The town caller never lies. And Indians are feirce men, barley dressed, and how could they be peacfull?" Hugo looked ahamed, while the farmer, smug. "And you, Mr. Racci." Now it was the farmers time to looked ahamed. "You have a right to look down. You think farmers are so hard working. But they have a very, very, manly appitite. Who cooks dinners, takes care of children, weave, sell, wash, beg the children to watch behinde their ears, go to the market, buy, go to the well, feed, and do it all over again tomorrow?"
"But us farmers..."
"Yes, I know, you farm. But try farming and doing all the other things in one day. So there."
Robert had had enouph. He thought Charity had done a good job reasoning, but as soon as she left they would be back at it again. "There is a good chance the Indians could be peacful, but we must be ready..."
"Robert" Ponelopy said, looking at the vast plains. There were moving creatures. Probably just a deer, but you could never be to sure.
"Not now, Ponelopy, but anyway...."
"But Robert, you need to look."
"Really Po, be quiet! Can't you see I'm trying to talk." Robert brushed her away.
And then it came. A wild cry, an Indian cry. It didn't sound like a war cry, but the viligers scurried, grabing farm tools as weapons. Ponelopy ran to her house, and fainted.
The next thing she knew she was lying on her bed, with Robert looking down at her. "Po, Ponelopy, wake up. Wake up, the Indians didn't do anything, there giving us their turkey."
"Hugh?" Ponelopy groaned. "Turkey? Thanksgiving? Indians? Indians! Robert, there coming, we need to go! Were not safe!"
"Po, they gave us a turkey. There popping a wonderful treat called popcorn. I know it wasn't likely, but they are, Po, they are peacful."
An hour later Ponelopy felt good enouph to go outside. She ate the popcorn, witch turned out to be a great treat, played games, and even made an Indian friend, a little girl named Raining Stars. The first Thankgiving she ever had in the new world, turned out to be the best!
