Riding Lessons
Hi. I take riding lessons every week. I ride a horse named Razin. She is brown. She is very easy to handle. Each week I groom her, ride her, and sometimes give her a bath. I bring her treats every week. She has mostly been getting apples and sugar. I used to ride a horse named Haley. She was white with brown spots. She was easy to ride also. But then she got a sore hoof and she retired.

May. 6, 2008 - Hello!
It sounds like you work very hard and are learning great things. I'm proud of you!
I'm nervous around horses. When I was in high school, some friends and I went riding. I wasn't really excited about it, as I don't like animals very much, but I let my friends talk me into going! (This is a perfect example of why we shouldn't let that happen!)
The people that owned the stables put me on the oldest and most gentle horse they had. She was slow movin' and I was happy that way. We stopped by a stream and this perky boy horse was beside me with my friend riding him.
I guess my old horse got tired standing there and she shifted her weight. Well, that boy horse got spooked by her moving and he kicked at her with his back leg. He kicked me right in the calf!
Talk about seeing stars and PAIN!
I had a huge black, purple, blue, green, and yellow bruise over the whole bottom of my leg for days!
I have never been back on or around a horse since then...and don't want to. Last week I went to the Kentucky Derby Parade and even just having those horses on the street in front of me makes me nervous!
See...if I hadn't let my friends talk me into doing something I had no desire to do in the first place, I wouldn't have gotten hurt and maybe I would have grown to have a true desire to ride and it wouldn't have turned out like that!
Anyway...there's my horse story to share! I'm glad you have found something you really like and that your parents are supporting your dreams. You have lots to be thankful for!
Love you lots...
Ms. Mindy
