Moving and homeschooling !
Moving and homeschooling is a bad combo ! So we moved about 10 min. up the freeway with a 2 week layover at a friends house ,everything went to storage. CRAZY month. I think my children have learned some valuable lessons that cannot be taught from a book. Like living in another persons home and by their rules. Not a whole lot different than first getting married! They have learned a dear and not soon forgotten lesson about packing neatly and orderly. My kids are now unpacking their packing disasters. They may just throw it all out and give up. Lesson learned. They have been learning quickly how different the city is from the small town they grew up in. They learned that money leaves your pocket more quickly when there are places to spend it. That not every parent in town knows them by name. They have the chance to meet new people and visit new places. They really are excited to go check out the BIG library . The one from town was about 600 sq ft. I of course have been a crazy person. We all missed the internet. We really do a lot online. I thought my 16 year old was going to kiss the screen. |

Pen pals
Today our only lesson was sitting down to write to their new pen pals. So we got to go over capitalization ,punctuation and grammar. It was a good refresher for them. They wanted to impress. Tomorrow my son gets to go and get his 16th birthday present- a playstation 3. I don't see any school happening tomorrow ,unless I want to teach them how to make my bank account go to ZERO in one shot ! |
