KITCHEN MAKEOVER!!! NEW COUNTERS AND A DEEPER SINK TO FIT 8 PLATES PER MEAL. I LOVE IT. THE KITCHEN DOESN'T NEED A MAKEOVER AT ALL AND THE COUNTERS WERE JUST FINE........BUT IF MY HONEY WANTS TO SPEND SOME OF HIS BONUS ON ME...THAT'S SO SWEET!
WITH THE GRANITE PATTERN, YOU CAN HARDLY SEE ALL THE CRUMBS, RIGHT?!!?
O.K. THIS IS MAX. HE WAS IN THE BEACH WATER FOR ONLY 2 SECONDS AND CUT HIMSELF ON AN OYSTER SHELL. WE WERE JUST AROUND THE CORNER FROM THE NAVAL HOSPITAL AND GOT HIM THERE RIGHT AWAY. HE WAS SO GOOD AND THE DR. WAS SO GOOD TO US. MAX WAS SO BRAVE. STITCHES COME OUT NEXT WEEK.

Friday, April 20, 2007 - Homeschool Happenings!!!

Yesterday we had great fun with some homeschool friends. A very generous family invited us all to their lovely home for some fun and fellowship. Yes, that is my youngest son Max, who fell into the water. See his older brother Malachi wishing it would have been him! See my friend Chris who was faster than I with more appropriate shoes on for water rescue missions, thanks Chris!!

What's more fun than a tractor/trailer ride?
We were blessed to have cold refreshment in the form of SNO CONES! umm, ummmm
The day wouldn't be complete without a great game of kick ball. Some adults were brave enough to play too! (not me)
I remember one homeschool activity about a year ago, where I was FORCED to play kickball. I'm not going to mention any names............

The "STAR FRUIT"
I had a friend remind me of this fruit she had found and tried once from the commissary. I was excited to find it this last shopping trip!
We weren't sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised! I would describe it as a grape/apple consistency. It was sweet, tart and mild all in one.

We also celebrated the birth day of our Maegen Nicole.
Born on valentines day with an outline of a heart on her forhead (so called "angel's kiss"), no kidding. Still shows up when she gets "flustered."

HEY YALL! NEED SOME QUICK "BIRDING FOR DUMMIES" ADVICE ON BIRD FEEDERS. WE ARE STUDYING BIRDS. WE DO NOT PLAN ON BUYING ANY, WE ARE MAKING OUR OWN. I HAVE DONE SOME READING BUT AM WONDERING WHERE TO HANG THEM. HIGH ON A BRANCH OF A TREE OR CAN YOU HANG THEM ON LOW LYING BRANCHES?? I HAVE EVEN READ THAT IT IS GOOD TO FEED BIRDS THAT HANG OUT IN BRUSH AREAS, WE HAVE SOME OF THAT TOO.

HEY YALL. YESTERDAY MAX HAD A W.I.C. APPOINTMENT. HE LOVE TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE. HE WAS VERY EXCITED UNTIL HIS 5 YR. OLD BROTHER MALACHI ASKED HIM IF HE WAS GONNA GET A "SHOT". JUST SO HAPPENS THAT THIS CHECK UP DID REQUIRE A FINGER "POKE", SO I HAD TO BE HONEST WITH HIM WHEN HE ASKED ME ABOUT IT. HE WAS DREADING IT AND KEPT TELLING ME ALL MORNING THAT HE DIDN'T WANT TO GO. ONCE WE GOT THERE, WE PRAYED THAT MAX COULD BE BRAVE AND THE LORD WOULD HELP HIM NOT TO BE AFRAID..........AND THAT I WOULD BUY HIM A LITTLE TREAT AFTERWARDS FOR GOOD BEHAVIOR. TURNS OUT THAT MAX WAS VERY COOPERATIVE AND HE DIDN'T CRY AT ALL. HE EVEN SAID, "THAT DIDN'T EVEN HURT!" PRAISE THE LORD FOR HIS HELP IN TIMES OF FEAR.

Hey yall. We sure had fun in science today. Matt, Mae and MIke are studying zoology. We have a great time going on a scavenger hunt around the house for goodies. Today we began to study birds. This sparked Mae's interest in "birding" so, she has created her own blog just for her new hobby. I hope she keeps her interest up, I'd love to see her do so. She joined an EBIRD organization and plans on doing a bird watch for the month of Feb. Matthew loves birds also and has continued his great drawings of birds that he sees in our bird magazines. He does a great job!

HEY YALL. HAVEN'T BEEN ON HERE MUCH LATELY. OUR FAMILY HAS ENJOYED OUR DAY OFF TOGETHER, HOPE YOU HAVE DONE THE SAME.
GUESS WHAT!?!! WE ARE PLANNING ON ATTENDING THE WILD'S HOMESCHOOL CONVENTION THIS SEPTEMBER. IT'S A FAMILY CAMP. THEY WILL HAVE SPEAKERS AND ACTIVITIES FOR ALL AGE GROUPS!! I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE WHAT THE LORD HAS IN STORE FOR US DURING THIS CONVENTION!! THE KIDS ARE SO HAPPY!! WE KNOW ONE DEAR FAMILY FROM CHURCH THAT WILL BE GOING, I'D SURE LIKE TO SEE SOME OTHER FAMILIES THAT I KNOW ATTEND ALSO. THAT WOULD BE A GREAT REUNION, HUH? HINT, HINT!!!
SPECIAL PRAYERS GOING OUT TO ALL YOU LADIES WHO HAVE HUSBANDS AWAY SERVING OUR COUNTRY. ALSO FOR THOSE WHO WILL BE LEAVING SOON.

Friday, January 5, 2007 - NOT TIME TO MOVE!
HEY YALL. GUESS WHAT? MY HUBBY CAME HOME YESTERDAY FROM WORK WITH NEWS THAT WE ARE NOT MOVING AFTER ALL. BOY WAS I SHOCKED. HE WAS TOO. HE HAD CALLED THE MONITOR TO SEE WHEN WE COULD HEAD OUT AND HE SAID THAT THINGS WERE WORKING OUT FINE FOR US TO STAY HERE. THERE WAS NO NEED FOR US TO LEAVE FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER YEAR! I AM HAPPY AND LET DOWN ALL AT THE SAME TIME. AT LEAST WE CAN FINISH OUR UPSTAIRS NOW AND ACTUALLY GET TO LIVE IN IT BEFORE WE MOVE. AT LEAST I DON'T HAVE TO SAY GOODBYE TO MY CHURCH FAMILY. I WILL MISS NOT LIVING NEAR MY DISTANT FRIENDS THOUGH, BOO HOO. I SURE FEEL LIKE A ROAD TRIP, WHEN IS THE NEXT "96" ??? AND OF COARSE, WE ALL KNOW THIS IS OF THE LORD OR IT WOULDN'T BE HAPPENING THIS WAY. IT'S ALL PART OF HIS DEVINE PLAN!

Merry CHRISTmas everyone. I pray you are all surrounded by family and friends. We are truly blessed by the Lord in all these things and more! We are having a wonderful day celebrating the birth of our saviour, Jesus Christ. The house is busy yet quiet right now. Everyone is doing their own thing and some are playing together with new toys. Now that the early morning noise of rustling gift paper has finally subsided, we have the perfect chance to reflect on God's perfect gift to us along with our earthly gifts our family has bestowed upon us. God is so good!

Hi there. Hubby came home with some news yesterday. We will be moving this summer. Had to happen sooner or later. At least we already have friends there to show us the ropes. Moves can be exciting or depressing. I always make my home wherever I go. I always am content wherever I may be. But leaving my friends and church........that's the hard part. We have much to do before we even leave here, like.........finish building the upstairs! So, please keep us in prayer!

Saturday, December 9, 2006 - Shop till you drop!

Boy am I glad to be home now. Just made it in from some Christmas shopping..I am worn out. It is not easy to shop with 4 boys all under the age of 8. Anyway.............we had some fun and we had temper tantrums and then we all had some candy, then everything was fine!!! Then, back to the truck to watch the Chronicles of Narnia while the girls finished up their shopping with each other. Everything turned out well and I do believe we are done shopping now.
Need to get the children ready for bed. Early to bed, early to rise??? That must be the case for Sunday morning!
