So unsure how to do this!

Well, please forgive me...this is my very first blog here and I'm totally unsure what I'm doing! I've only been homeschooling since January, but I'm finding that I truly love it.  My 2 girls are 10 & 17, 4th and 11th grade. My 10 yr old was recently diagnosed with ADHD, which explains so much of her behaviour.  Public school didn't mention the possibility at all, merely marked her down for talking too much, fidgeting, interrupting, distracting the class, making noise etc etc.  4+ years in public school and this never was given a thought??? Then I started homeschooling and saw first hand her difficulties with focus as well as all of the above, and I said hey, what a minute!  I think she may have ADHD. Poor girl was only able to do 2nd grade math, yet they kept passing her. Took her to be tested, and guess what? She meets every single DSM (symptom) for it.  Now we can better plan her cirriculum. I can focus on the positives, help with the more challenging.  All in all such a blessing. My older daughter is an entirely different story. Wanted me to homeschool here as well because she couldn't get up early to go to school and was flunking all her classes. She proved to be just as....unwilling...to do her homeschool.  She seems more motivated lately, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.  So all in all, I'm happy to be here, feel blessed to be homeschooling, and hope I can keep it up for years to come.
