A couple days off...
Our family splurged on annual passes to Disney this year and we've enjoyed trips up there (a three hour drive) a few times over the past several months. It has been a real treat, and with the stress-filled year we've had, those trips have been a way to get away from it all. Disney is great about allowing you to bring food into the park, so we can even pack a lunch. We've found cheap places to stay too, so the trips aren't too costly.Monday morning the boys and I got up early and headed for the a visit with the Mouse. We stayed a couple days, just to take in the Christmas lights and take a bit of a break. The lights, decorations, etc. were AWESOME! I know it is pure commercialism at it's best, but we love it anyway Of course, we missed having Dad there - he had to go to work and manage take care of the orders coming in from our special December promotion.
Now we're home and settling into a routine, we have a few days of "school" to do. My oldest is in a Biology class and Starting Points study group. Our last class is Tuesday night, then we'll be off for the rest of the month. Yea!
We're pulling out the Christmas decorations and my collection of Christmas books to enjoy. The last three years we have read the Jotham's Journey series of Advent books. I'm not sure what we'll read this year, but I need to pick something!
I'm open to suggestions - what books do YOUR family enjoy reading this time of year?

Truly, a mother's heart IS her child's classroom! On this wonderful journey called homeschooling, it is always nice to have someone to encourage your heart and provide solid practical tips to equip you for the awesome task of educating your children for the Glory of God! I look forward to sharing product reviews, talking about learning styles, and looking at ways to minister to the hearts AND minds of our children!
