Hello everyone, Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. I had been sick for a couple days so on my weekend we just stayed home. Plus because of gas prices and and the amount of people out on the roads we decided to stay home too. My son made me a card which was so sweet.
Oh yes, I got money too. lol How sweet is that. I hadn't been cooking because of my cold so that was a nice break except that the dirty dishes did pile up and son and I have been getting all that taken care of this morning. Let's see what else did I do, oh yes, I mowed grass. lol Yes on Mother's Day. Not because I had to (although it did need it) but because I love mowing my lawn,(with my rider that is). lol Anyways, I ran over a copperhead that was about the size of a quarter. Couldn't tell ya how long it was cause by the time I knew about it it was chopped up. So I am singing now, "another one bites the dust" lol. Did I mention I can not stand snakes. Just typing this is giving me the heebee geebee's. lol Then I also had to take my washing machine apart because a spring broke that keeps it balanced. So hubby stretched the spring out and bent it over and then I drilled a whole in the metal part that also had rusted through and made a different hole. Then I slipped it in the hole and fixed that. The really hard part is putting the casing back on right. It works like a dream again. Oh yes, I try and fix our washer and dryer when something goes wrong. I can do it as long as it has nothing to do with the wiring. Hubby and son are going to take me out sometime this week for a Mother's Day dinner. How sweet is that. Well that is what we did here, if you post about your special day, be sure and let me know and I will try and drop by and read up on your day. Have a wonderful day |

It was a sad morning this morning. Blackberry (our dog with cancer) passed on sometime in the night last night. So sorry to see her go but glad she is in no more pain. I will try and write a happier post later. Have a good day. |

Now aren't they just the cutest little things you ever seen. Our dog Bo first brought the one in front up and son was able to get it away from him before he hurt him. Then the next evening he found another one around the same area. So we are assuming they are brother and sister. We bottle fed them for a little bit and then called the Conservation Department and they thought we should bring them up to them to take care of. So that is what son and I did. We were concerned that they may just TAKE CARE OF THEM (hint hint) but she assured us that they would not do anything to hurt them. Ok now on to something else that happened today. It was really quite funny. Son and I decided to walk out and check on the cattle. Son decided to bring his big huge ball. You know the really big ones at Wal-Mart that are about 2 foot in diameter. It is a really pretty blue color too. Well anyways, we get through the gates and the cows spotted son with his ball. They really didn't know what to think. He is throwing it up into the air and the cows are just so curious that they just had to get closer. I really wish I had my camera then. Son laid down on the grown with his ball and the cows all lined up so nicely about 20 foot from him and just stood there watching him. We have 30 head out in that field and to see them all lined up was pretty cool. Son finally laid the ball down on the ground and stepped back some and they all came up to investigate what that thing was. They licked it to see if it tasted good. lol I guess they thought it might be a salt or mineral block. They quickly lost interest until son picked it up and started walking off. Then they followed til we got to the gate. It was really comical to watch. lol The things that amuse us here on the farm. lol Well, we finally got our garden plowed and started getting some things planted. We spent the weekend as a family getting it going. Then today, son and I took the winter top off the pool and decided to just drain it cause it had so many leaves in it that it really was gross. So now we have it filling back up now. That is some of what we have been up to these last few days. Now that we are school break, we are finding all kinds of things to do. Hope you all are having a great start to your week. Be blessed. Dot |

Unbelieveable, Son and I really cleaned out our storage shed and got rid of some junk. Found things that we forgot we had and lots of things that we just don't even need and are not even worth keeping. Talk about packrats. lol Now we can walk into our storage shed again but still no box with the trampoline mat in it. Guess we will go to the next place now. We woke up to a very fast moving (65mph) storm. They say the there were tornados just popping up in them but thankfully it wasn't that bad where I live. The whole storm was out of here in an hour. I just had to show you my tulip that I bought last year and it bloomed not long ago. I finally decided to pick them so I could have them in the house and maybe paint them. Don't know if I can though. They are so pretty and when they spread out wide open, they are as big as my hand spread out. Notice how they changed the coloring of them. So pretty. Have a wonderful weekend |

Ok, so I have always known it but I guess just didn't want to accept it. I have too much junk. And I know this because I have lost a box with a brand new trampoline mat in it. The box is not a small box either. It is about two and a half foot tall and probably 12x12 square. Can you believe that. Oh yeah, it is true. We have all these places for storage around our place and so when we need something we just can't seem to find it. I have looked everywhere today with son's help and nothing. Where could it of went to? Can't just disappear. The bad thing is a few years back it happened to me too. I lost, get this, a big metal square suitcase that I was storing my Christmas things in. And that was at least 3 ft long. lol And it has stickers all over it where the owner before me had traveled. Should of been easy to see. Well, I lost that thing for 3 years. I thought I looked everywhere until this past Christmas, I found it, in the storage shed where I put it. lol So I'm sure you agree with me that I have too much junk. lol Oh and guess what? Hubby was able to get out there last night and plow part of the garden. It has been so wet that it was not possible. I think he is going to try and get the rest plowed tonight. Then come Friday, it is suppose to rain all day again. This has really been some crazy weather. It got up to 77* today. Ready to open the pool now. lol Ok off to look yet in another place to hopefully find this box. Have a great day. |

This is son getting our Billy goat (Admiral) some water. Now he could of just stretched out some water hoses which would be about 300ft. But he chose to fill the water this way. Now that barrel has a couple small holes in the top so I am not sure how he plans on dumping it. But I know he will figure out a way. He needed about 15 gallon to fill it up. He says that stretching the water hoses was too much trouble. What a hard working little fella. Well my house got so chilled that I finally just started up the fireplace this morning. We have a rock house and so when it chills down, it is hard to warm it back up. They say it got down to 31 last night but maybe not here. I don't think it effected out fruit trees. I sure hope not. Last year we didn't get one drop of fruit. My cherry trees are just filled with little cherries. It is suppose to warm back up starting today again. Hope you all have a great day. |

Well it has been a pretty good weekend. We took a little family time running around some. First hubby wanted to look at a backhoe. That didn't turn out to be anything we wanted. It had too many problems. So we went to the grocery store and got a few things to have a picnic. Then we decided to drive down to Grand Gulf in Mammoth Springs Arkansas. That is one of my son's favorite spots. We got there and it was really crowded so we went to the State Park instead. It was packed too but we found a nice little spot to have our picnic. After that we went over to the Hatchery but the main part was closed because of the flooding we had a couple weeks ago. But they did have their little aquarium room open. They have a small alligator in there and we have never seen it move, not once. Well yesterday was no different. It sure looks dead to me but what do I know. I do know that alligators can be very still. Hope you all had a great weekend also. |
