Close to the end

              Photobucket

Here we are very close to the end of our schooling for the summer.  We are working on our last chapter of Math and then it will be break time. So today after Math, son found himself a nice quiet spot to sit down and read a book out in this beautiful weather. We will finish up by the 1st of May and then we usually start back around the 1st of July. Usually not full force. But that is when it is really hot out and we are inside alot so why not do some schooling. It works out for us this way because this time of year is so nice to be doing things outside the most. Son is so excited and mom's ready for a break too.

Well I thought I would share a couple pictures of our little ducklings that we bought a couple weeks ago. We let them loose for the first time the other day. We pen them up at night though. Anyways, they are doing great.

I was worried about our goose because he pecked at one of them right off the bat when we let them out. But now a few days later and looks like he is their pal.

Well, hope you are all doing wonderfully. Have a great week.

Dot

Hi Dot,
We follow a similar schedule - break soon, start early in July. However, this year I am making my kids do math three days a week and Spanish three days. Math is too hard for my girls to start up again after doing none for several weeks. They seem to forget everything but the most basic stuff! Actually... we might not get a break this year. We have been taking short breaks intermittently and now we are "behind", whatever that is, lol.
Have a great summer!

I love that pic of your son! One of the seminars I attended a few years ago at our state homeschool convention suggested just what you do ... school when it's too hot to go outside and take other times of the year off.

The ducks are adorable! You have the best selection of critters at your house!!!

We're on a similar schedule - we'll finish on May 6 and start up again sometime in July. (I need to start looking ahead to the next year's schedule soon.) It feels good to be so close to the end for a year, doesn't it?
