Day by Day

Sticky Note

Mar. 19, 2009
Finally

Remember a couple months ago I showed a picture of my milk cow and said that I thought she was going to calve any day. Well, that any day finally got here today. Yep, today. Guess I was off a little. lol

And here is the new little guy with mom

It is a little male, I was hoping for a female but it is less work having a male. He sure turned out pretty. His mom is a full blooded Jersey and dad is a full blooded Black Angus.  The only problem is he can't seem to figure out how to nurse yet. Will have to keep an eye on that. I tried to help him but she kicked at us and actually kicked him in the head. Letting them rest for the moment and then I will try again if he still hasn't nursed.

Staying busy as usual so I don't get on here much. I was spending too much time on the computer anyways so at least I am getting alot of other things done.

Hope you all are having a great week.

He is precious! I could gaze into that sweet face for the longest time. I hope he gets the nursing thing figured out and mama tolerates it.

Hope you are having a great weekend. It is good to be able to get things done, isn't it? :)
Blessings,
Pam

Your right - he sure is good looking. It must be a lot of fun taking care of him and mama.
We don't have cows, just horses. And two are pregnant, due in May. I am totally excited, this is the first time our ranch will have had a birthing, unless you count cats and kitties (and we've had a lot of those.)

It's been too long since I have been able to visit blogs that I love. How wonderful to see the calf, life must be so exciting to live around all of God's creation.
