more turkeys

Son went out this morning and bought himself 15 baby turkeys.

See the reason he did this is because his hen turkey that had been setting on eggs got killed by an uncle's dog the other day. So he was so bummed and this is what made him happy. lol His money, so if that is what he wants to spend it on. And he has also thought about if he decided not to keep some of them he can resale them and get his money back out of them and when they are bigger he can even make money off them. I am going to have him keep a log on how much he has spent on them and such so he can see what it cost to do something like this. I think it is a great lesson for him.

It has been rainy here all week and suppose to be all weekend also. I am ready for sunny days again. lol My lawn is getting too tall with all the rain. We will be busy with mowing for awhile when it gets dry again. lol Anyone want to help? lol

Well that is about it for now, have a great weekend.

That will be a fantastic lesson - very valuable business skills he's learning. :o) Many good wishes to him in his venture.

I wish you could send us your rain. I can't remember the last time it rained. The pollen is horrible and everything is dry, dry, dry. Our fire threat level increases each day. We're about a week away from when we had all the terrible wildfires last year. I definitely don't ever want a repeat of that!

Have a great week!

Hi Dot!
I think this will be a great life lesson for your ds. He can see how much money and work it takes for growing the turkeys and if he makes a profit.
I did get my KFC. Thanks for sharing. I didn't like the grilled chicken much, did you?
Happy Mother's Day to you!

May. 20, 2009 - good for him and for mom

Posted by Tweety

I think this is great that he help you cut trees from the storm and then he went out and spent his own money to buy them.
Even better that mom is going to teach him something with a log. Isn't so great when we can find that something that is really life and teach them something from it without them totally figuring out what we are doing!! LOL
Great job, looking forward to watching them grow!!!
