School's Out

School is out for us for the summer. It is such a great feeling too. We both needed the break and looking forward to it.

Here is son being a little goofy with some frogs from the pool. They are actually on the window.

Here is some updated pictures of his turkeys too. This is the 15 Royal Palms that he bought.

And these are the ones that we had to incubate because their mom got killed before they hatched. Saturday they will be a week old.

Today son and I did a little community service by going down our county road and cutting all the limbs that were hanging down and hitting our vehicles from the ice storm that we had a while back. I thought that was a great thing to teach my son and he felt so good to be doing it and we both had fun doing it too.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

That is an awesome community service project - BRAVO to you both! Little things like that go a long way to teach our kids how to care and give back. The turkeys are so cute. I hope he's still enjoying that. I bet he's having a wonderful time. The frog pic made me laugh. I couldn't figure it out so I'm glad you explained it. If I can get ds1 to focus (that's been extremely hard to do this last week), I think he can finish up in a couple of days.

Have a great day.

May. 18, 2009 - Those frogs had me fooled

Posted by Spitfires

Very clever photo with those frogs- it had me fooled
there until I read your subtitle!

Yes, it's important to teach values like community service at a younger age, it sets the standard for the rest of your life. Does the shire/town council etc. deal with these branches much?

That's a lot of turkeys, what do you do with them all?

I am glad that you are on break. Those last days of school are so tiring!
Those turkeys have grown. Wow. I didn't realize how fast they did grow!
I think the community service is great. I am making my dd participate in community service this summer. I don't know how thrilled she is, but I think it's a good experience.
